As a Business Analyst contractor, I've found my contracts have lasted 1 year maximum. I've been unfortunate to have been laid off due to a change in strategic direction/lack of funding.

I’m sorry to hear that. Aim to specialise over time I’m something which will be an emerging hot market. Become an expert in that. Double your rate and go for it

2 questions can you please answer me. First one if you're an independent contractor the company that hires you don't check your background do they? Also can I start off as an independent contractor or do I need experience first?

Yes they check your background and typically you’ll need experience although it depends on the role and the seniority

What if one has a full time job.. will the contractual background check reveal the other full time job and hence will be rejected?
