Hello, im new to the hobby and i cant decide between Cidoo V75 Pro- Cidoo V75 Plus and Monsgeek M1W. I want it to be thocky. Between these 3 there is barely 10-15 euro difference. What would you choose between them? Thanks for the cool video!
@keebtunes
@keebtunes 6 ай бұрын
hi there! Thank you for your wonderful compliments! If you're thock-chasing, I think the switches and caps will matter more than the boards in this case, as these three are fairly similar. If you haven't, check out my other vid on the V75 plus and you'll see that even though the plus and the pro are of similar housing, the other parts play a big part in how it sounds. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l7JdabyUnpm3fpc.html You'll want a keycap profile that is thick and probably a little taller than cherries. Maybe MOA/MDA/SA profiles? For switches, this can vary greatly, but some nice thocky ones that I've played with are akko yellows, gateron north poles, alpacas, etc. As long as they're not clicky switches lol The M1W is a nice board though! I think you'll get a little more cushioning on the M1W (at least that was my experience with the Monsgeek M1), but the cushioning doesn't necessarily translate to thockiness.

I can´t decide! I was looking for the Keychron Q1 but now I do not know! I really like the sound of the Cidoo v75. Which of these you like the most? Please help me
@keebtunes
@keebtunes 7 ай бұрын
ooo the Q1 is a nice board too! I believe it polls at 1000hz while wired, but only 90 on wireless, which kind of sucks. But from my experience and from reading about the Cidoo V75, it doesn't reach 1000hz (it polls around 500hz wired when I use keyboard inspector, and 125hz on wireless). So maybe this will help you decide a little bit better? Q1 will poll faster while plugged in, but slower while wireless. :D

So I was considering between the Cidoo V75 or Monsgeek M1 (and maybe Nuphy Halo75). Which of these you like the most?
@keebtunes
@keebtunes 10 ай бұрын
Cidoo V75 is better value than the M1 or the Halo75. I'd have to give it to the V75 if you're looking for a solid ass setup without having to do any work to it. Now, I think the M1 feels a "tad" more premium, but in terms of specs they're very much similar. The Cidoo has a bouncier gasket mount than the M1 though...that thing is pretty stiff. I don't have much experience with the Halo, although I do own the Field75, and I think Nuphy's products are okay...It's more glam than wham, tbh. It's more aesthetic, but feels worse to type on... at least that was my experience with the Field75, which is 160 but doesn't feel that good to type on...I use it because I love the side volume knob, but out of all of these three boards, I'd have to go Cidoo > M1 > Halo If you want a kit though, M1W will be better (for $10 bucks more) since the M1 doesn't have wireless. Cidoo and Halo has all three connectivity options.

@keebtunes
@keebtunes 10 ай бұрын
I didn't even mess with the stabs because I thought they were solid, although some hand lubing would only make it better. There's minimal rattle, and the stabs are moderately tight. The plate cutout is sufficient to accommodate third party stabs, although I don't think you'd need to go that route.
@inspire1ove
@inspire1ove 10 ай бұрын
@@keebtunes thanks for your reply. yeah they do sound pretty good stock. Do you think just brushing some lube on the housings and injecting some grease into the wire spaces would make them perfect without needing aftermarket stabs?
@keebtunes
@keebtunes 10 ай бұрын
For sure! You can start with injecting just a little and seeing how the stabs react, because there's already lube on the steel wires. you may be able to skip brushing the stem and housing altogether.
@keebtunes
@keebtunes 10 ай бұрын
If you do want to perfect the stabs though, brushing the stem and housing will be necessary. And if you're doing that, I'd wipe off the steel wire lube and apply your own, and maybe drop a stab pad or bandaid under the stabs before you screw them back in

@keebtunes Жыл бұрын
I think it depends on your situation? The gmk67 is a good piece of you already have switches and keycaps lying around the you can use for it, saving you the extra cost of purchasing. Otherwise, its total price may be easily around 90-100. The cidoo v65 is a tad more expensive but comes with an aluminum setup and preinstalled switches and keycaps, which may not be a fit for everyone. I do think the overall quality of the cidoo is better, and the base sound profile is clean on the cidoo. And for a little bit more money, you do get a premium feeling aluminum setup instead of abs plastic. However the GMK67 is the best budget kit you can get IMO, just keep in mind that it's going to be plastic, albeit a nicer level of plastic ...
