Probably some defensive move to prevent that Qf3+ obvious enough maybe Blocking Gukesh’s Rook so the Queen would not be able to land that check like Re3

Am i wrong?.......Move 16 --after Rb1 a6. Why didnt black go Rook C8 captures knight C3.if pawn captures rook then the Queen captures rook?

because the rook on b1 is protected by the queen and rook, Black would get a Knight and Rook for their Queen and Rook

@@ruantristancarlinsky3851 - it shows that we're all human - we all make mistakes under time pressure - even grand masters. I am against these quick games - although 25 minutes each should be enough to play without such blunders. Classic chess - 40 moves each in 2 hours is better for a fair game that will go down in history and be worth studying in any chess book.
