it seems like they focused even more on the newer episodes....the old ones were way better even thow I always loved the new too. I also loved Degrassi, and Degrassi jr.high with joey,snake,spike, Caitlyn, and all the adults in "the new gen."...♡♡♡☆SUCH an important and AMAZING show...althow it has lots of fans in The States, it gets NOTHING as far as hype like it does in Canada...not many people where I live ever watched it or knew of it...but I LIVED IT!! lolol.i remember when The N/noggin network (by Nick for CBC) would play these weekend long sessions of "all degrassi episode EVER made"...and I would watch from morning sat.all night without sleeping until Sunday evening, and I loved it!!...Man, Those weekends were awesome. Never missed an episode for 6 yrs.from then on...I kinda couldn't watch every one once Claire and Eli were going into senior year,I trailed off cause I no longer had the channel...so I am sooo glad to be able to catch up here. ***** not really..once the cast of The Next Class (Maya, Zig, Tristan) was introduced in The Next Generation, ratings started going down so they had to cancel the show world-wide..which is why they only show The Next Class only in Canada and on Netflix. That's how bad it is compared to The Next Generation. Like, on it's own, TNC is okay. But it is nothing compared to TNG.

I think of drake stepping back embracing and then turning/running away from a gun he knows will be used on him.....its engrained in my mind...he didn't just get blind sided or was standing still with his back turned like you expect..he talked to his shooter and .he was running after realizing he can't get out of this or talk him out of it but hes going to try to get away and seeing his mortality and knowing he may not make it..thats brutal to watch play out as quick as it it its all in his face and movements ...its easy now to laugh at it and realize he survived but when it aired we thought he died and its so impactful live...or without knowing the rest...and the wheelchair storyline im sure was amazing to watch for less people since how many of us have gone through that and with jimmy's character its not like they could do as many heartfelt storylines more simple ones since hes not suppose to be the most complex character ever hes very straight forward and easy going like the actor who plays him..thats why it impacted us all so much you don't expect him to get shot

I’m fairly certain the episode was actually banned in the US, so it technically wasn’t even aired, so maybe they didn’t anybody besides Canadian audiences would’ve known about?? It’s just a guess. They 100% should’ve aired it in the US, it’s an incredible storyline.

Being from the generation before you, I would have to say Degrassi Junior High/Degrassi High are 2 of the greatest teenage shows of all time. Degrassi The Next Generation was good. At first, I primarily watched it because I was curious to see what happened to Spike (Christine), her baby girl Emma, Snake (Mr. Simpson), Joey, and Caitlin. However, as I watched, I found the story lines were very real and gritty like the original series from the 80's/90's. Therefore, I cont. to watch.

Oli Dupuy Cam was always meant to die that was his character. I don't get the hype surrounding him. To me JT's death will always have a bigger impact

As devastating as JT's death was, it was murder, not something that is common for teenagers. But Cam's storyline touched on depression and suicide that more teenagers can relate to. That doesn't mean his character overpowered JT's, but that it was such a taboo topic that people needed to see and hear

this video is talking about how the show writers wanted to make degrassi as relatable to teens as possible. jt's death was a murder. and although it happens, it doesn't happen often. cam's entire character was based around teenage mental health and teen suicide. it would only make sense that they mention him. on top of that, dylan everett was one of the best actors on the show and cam was sort of a fan favourite.

Honestly, there were so many moments and just not enough time to talk about them. Every storyline was so unique and impactful. I still get so many feels just thinking about them.

I agree with you! Mainly when the next class was casted in TNG (Maya Tristan Zig etc) I started to lose interest in the show and kept telling myself that this new group of characters are destroying the show and that it doesn't feel like degrassi anymore. I also kept saying that the new cast needs to separate themselves from the show or something. Looks like my thoughts actually happened lol. Good they separated the cast and started a new series of degrassi separate from TNG. I couldn't get myself to watch more than one episode from that series.

Yeah, I stopped watching when the people like Sav, Holly J, and Peter and all them left the show. But I feel like I missed out on a lot of drama. I've been hooked on the latest series now, though I'm not a fan of the remixed theme song.

Supposed to reflect how it's easy to just label these shooters as evil. Well, I didn't find the shooting what made him bad, it was everything before that. He was already, a "bad" person in the sense that he repeatedly, not just once, hurt Terry even with her kindness and trying to give him second chances, he kept proving that he wasn't someone who deserved that kind of forgiveness because he never learned from it. And so eventually, this sweet caring girl, is in a coma because of him and to me that should've been it. He should've been charged, put in jail, or at the very least, been in a rehabilitation program. It never made sense to me how he just got away with such a serious crime. Then allowed not only into school, but the school of the girl he nearly killed. And it was HIS decision to go there. Yet the writers make it seem like we're supposed to angry at the rest of the students because they don't want him there, when it's for an incredibly solid reason. I don't think they did the

+Lindsey Working storyline very well. It's obviously a rough to do, and I don't particularly think any show has done that issue justice. But, their portrayal just didn't make sense. There were way too many flaws, and like i said, it wasn't relatable. The character of Rick was not a guy you felt bad for. I thought the way they treated him, made sense given what he'd done previously. They didn't want him there, and my god, i certainly wouldn't want to be around someone, everyday, in a place like school, that should feel safe, and have to see the person who put my best friend in a coma. Who put me AND her through all that. That's completely unfair to put people let alone, kids, in that position. Honestly, can you imagine, having to see that person everyday? What that would do to you? How could you concentrate? Ugh sorry, but this was upsetting. Her friends had every right to be mad, honestly, I am genuinely surprised it didn't go other way, and someone didn't hurt/kill him. Thoughts?
