We really do enjoy all the animals when we got Wilbur. We thought he would be here forever. With Wilbur already snapping at Brayley a couple different times we can’t take any more chances that is just way too dangerous.

I always gave my nursing females 2 meal a day of kibble, cottage cheese & 2 raw egg. Especially when they had over 8 pups.

So glad you were aware and able to relocate the hogs. I grew up in farm country and went through school with a few kids who had lost fingers from taking care of hogs. They can and do eat anything they can get at. I don’t think it’s a good idea to have them around the kids or pups.

Pigs not Hogs. Also, other pigs don't behave in this matter. You've just generalize. It depends on their raising, and if they at times been fixed. If not ? You have to raise them well. Because their system is designed on survival an help eliminate food scraps/waste we throw. That's like saying somebody should put you in jail for j-walking trying to escape from a thief. You don't erase you're nature. Nor should you demonize others for theirs. Learn to adapt an form with their rhythm Not change them to you're liking. God forbid someone takes one liberty you have.

Hi Brandon and Stephanie. From what I have heard from goat farmers, the mama is the only one who should be eating the babies’ placenta. The pigs should be in there own pen, period. Wild hogs eat meat! It’s not a far stretch to think of domestic pigs doing it too.

The livestock guardian dogs eat it as well. They don’t leave it laying around because they don’t want predators to show up.

Thank you for saying this, I agree with you 💯%. Why are the pigs with goats, especially when the Momma Goats who are going to give birth any day, the pigs eat are eating the baby goats. While Wildlife Guardian Dogs may eat the placenta they do so to protect the goats from predators. Pigs are not going to be protective of the goats - pigs are predictors which is exactly why they ate baby goats 😥 and they were still in pens with the momma's 😡

@@LifeOnTheEddyFamilyFarm Comparing the Pigs to the Live Stock Guardian Dogs is like comparing Apple's to Oranges. Live Stock Guardian Dogs protect the goats - the pigs are predators to the goats.

Sorry about the baby goats. Ya'll and Jerry will be much happier now. Princess Leila is beautiful. It's going to be fun watching her grow. I can remember being about Braylee's age and crawling in with the mama and a large litter of puppies for a nap.Time well spent! LOL

So sorry about the pig issue. This is how we learn, sometimes with not the best outcomes. Safety of your family is definitely important and of upmost priority. Then safety of your animals. You did right by getting rid of the pigs. Suggest if you all decide to get more pigs later keep them in their own pen away from the other animals and keep the kids away from from them to keep the kids safe

You all did the right thing. It's a wonder they did not go after the puppies when mommy went to eat something. That would have been terrible. I am glad the children did not get hurt too.I like the new turkey .Smart trade.

I love the baby goats and the way they hop around. So cute and precious. The little Cria is gorgeous. A baby llama and alpaca under 6 months is called a cria, pronounced KREE-uh. (I googled it. LOL) I don't blame you for getting rid of the pigs. They will eat anything, given the chance, and I mean anything.

I'm really surprised that you have let the pigs run free with all the other animals. Most places I watch have a separate pen just for the pigs, but I do understand that everyone runs their farm their own way. Glad you caught that action as it happened and will take measures to correct it. The new babies are adorable (both the goats & the puppies)

They had to go. But at least they're going to a good home. The fact that they were prepared to attack the baby goat is bad enough but to have a go at Braylee is a definite bye bye. As for Jerry's new girl. It was like Jerry took one look at her and though "Nah. I still prefer Brandon's leg." 🤣 You're gradually finding the right balance with the animals. Love you all. ❤‍🔥

I am 81, was born and raised on a smaller farm for some time. My late husband and I had a small farm. I am not familiar with any small farms where the animals were all together. We raised pigs which we would buy as feeder pigs and raise them to processing age. That way we knew what they had been fed. Just ideas for you.

You did the right thing Brandon and Steph. For your on going of Goats which I know gelps provide your family. But most of all your own children. They should be able to play and gave fun in their own but yard without you looking over your shoulder when the play with their farm friends.

Pigs do eat their own if there is something wrong with it. I know that for a fact I’ve seen it on our own family farm 😢😊 But I’m sad to see Wilbur go😢but it’s for there own good for the animals and the kiddos 😊 glad to see babies being born and to have more in the next few days too. Congratulations on the baby goat. I am sorry that you lost some of them. I am sad that you had to get rid of the pigs but I can understand why you felt you had to. You said it all when you said that he didnt feel right about it There was no reason to justify their removal. If you ever decide to try again i would suggest you not mix omnivores in with anything that produces meal sized babies.

What the heading said was , "SAYING GOODBYE TO KZfaq". Very misleading.What the Person you traded these "dangerous" Pigs to said in her heading " Bartering with the Eddy Family Farm". I will continue to watch you guys as I really enjoy your family and children all taking part in caring for the animals. I know video creators know drama gets more views than non drama, but this time it really was misleading.

My grandfather always kept his pigs/hogs in a pig pen with a water spot for them to get in when it was hot. You might try that if you get more pigs even if it is for the meat.
