the question is where do you put it if you don't own any land in the first place. People interested in these houses most likely are renting and want to avoid normal houses because those are too expensive, and so they don't own any land. But if you don't own land, then where is this gonna go once you buy it?

They need to combine a consulting arm of where to place it. You can't get overly excited about something that you can't really set up in the first place. If Musk had also bought chunks of land out somewhere and sold the house and plot as a dual or combined package, then it'd make it a 100% secure decision.

The house is great and I wish I could buy one. The big problem here in San Diego, CA is that there is No affordable place to set it up!!! Ideally it would be wonderful if we had something like a Tiny Home Park with lots to rent or purchase. How about it Elon Musk, is that a project you would like to tackle? How sweet that would be.

This will never work. First you need land to put it on which most people can never afford because loans on land are extremely rare and almost impossible to get so you need cash to buy a lot. Then you need to get permits and approval from the town. Then you need to either drill a well or hookup to public water if available and sewer, or install a septic system. Then you need to cut a road in and install a driveway wheather it's gravel or paved. The list goes on and on. And on top of it I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere this is actually 50k not 10k with setup maybe more. Most people will only be able to rent all thier life because once you have a job and you pay rent, getting out of that rut is not easy

Alot of states and countries have a minimum size (usually 700-1200 sq ft) for a dwelling, I hope if more and more people get into simple living we can tell local government to shove it and start changing these policies.

Electric cars use far more fossil fuels than Bitcoin does, as does the regular fiat money system. Every "green" proponent ignores that their solutions suck and cause far more environmental damage than just using fossil fuels do anyway.

Yeah . Time you get done with sewer, water, electrical, plumbing, foundation, landscaping, the piece of property, etc. I know it's like a plug in play but the most expensive part is getting it all to the house. I don't know...maybe for a getaway for someone with money. Use them instead of yurts for travelers.

It would not withstand hurricanes and tornados. it is great in theory but won't work everywhere. The land values are already very high, they would just increase more.
