@technom3598 I was thinking it should get the new 3.4 they used in the Tundra (which everyone was hoping for). And if you're talking about the dog slow 4.0, I agree with you. But the newer 3.5 2GR-FKS makes 278 hp in the current Taco (over 300 in the Camry version, so 278 is the lower end of that engine's capability), which is no weaker than the new 4-cylinder. If they want to compete with vehicles such as the Jeep 4XE (375 hp) or the Ford Ranger Raptor (405 hp), even their most powerful 2.4 hybrid (326 hp total) isn't gonna cut it, and it's not even close.

@@jamesreno3321300 hp V6 in a camry that weighs 1200 lbs less will feel quick. But not in a truck. Plus torque is more important than hp in a pickup and that 3.5 V6 makes no torque below 4000 rpm where the tall gearing and weight of the tacoma kill it

I love how people from other countries acting like Americans don't NEED big vehicles. As someone who is 6ft tall. I feel small these days. The average height of men where I live feels like it's 6'3"-6'5". With many men that height in their mid 30's to 50's being anywhere from 180lbs to 220lbs or more. There is NO way you can cram 5 or 6 of these dudes in a Tacoma for an 8 hour drive comfortably. These tiny 5'4" 100-110 lbs wet, people in other areas of the world need perspective. 😂

Toyota has really dropped the ball on there trucks. First you drop the V-8, and use a twin turbo V-6 that is not reliable and more expensive. Of course you don’t stop there, then you drop the V-6, on the Tacoma to a turbo 4-cyl with even less room in the back seat. This is a recipe for failure.
@bcyr-CO6 ай бұрын
Toyota trucks (save for the T100 and Tundra) have always been primarily I4s. The V6s were great engines, don’t get me wrong, but it’s not like the I4T is a complete left turn. I will agree though that the V6 hybrid in the Tundra sucks. Not because it’s a V6 (T100 and 1st gen got V6s), but because a hybrid full size truck is a stupid idea.

Or a bunk space. Hauls the boats out to the lake, deer from the woods, and is used as our shop truck. Most we ever mees to send out is 3. The Taco, the HDs, and our International CXT seat 5. It just never comes up.
