If the remaster has the same generic grindfest with a subpar combat system, the nostalgia won't be enough to bring me back.

Currently in DMO you can choose to make the digimon the main character you move around with and play as instead of the tamer, that isn't a new feature.

I remember putting a lot of hours into DMO when I was younger. Unfortunately the game suffered from a lot of bad translations that at times made quests seemingly impossible. For example, digmon was often accidentally referred to as digimon in the quests, leading to me being very confused as a kid when I would kill many random digimon without my quest proceeding. Thats also not to mention the terrible pay to win the game basically revolved around. To unlock a new high potential digimon as a F2P player was next to impossible. You needed to defeat a digimon from your desired digimon's line so it would drop the rookie's egg (a very low chance btw). You then also needed data specific to that digimon's type (dragon, aqua, etc.) that will sometimes drop when defeating a corresponding digimon. You then needed to try and infuse that data into the egg you dropped (usually 10 data at a time for the best digimon) which had a pretty high chance of just not succeeding. You needed it to succeed a minimum of 3 times to hatch that digimon, however level 3/5 was considered a poor egg. Digimon had a size percentage which affected stats. The higher the egg success level out of 5, the greater the percentage that digimon would be. This is not mentioning the most annoying part of this process, if an egg infusion failed it had a pretty high chance of destroying the egg and all progress made on it, setting you back to the start. Essentially getting a 4/5 or a 5/5 digiegg as a F2P player was impossible, and even a 3/5 egg took a long time with a lot of failures. Or of course you could pay the small fee of some premium currency to purchase an egg which will be automatically successful up to 3/5 on the infusion or potentially even higher. Oh you wanted to evolve your digimon? You'll need a specific item to get through the main stages which is mainly obtained through events or raids/bosses. Oh now you want the burst mode for that digimon? Yea that'll be another fee you pay to get that specific item. At some point they even stopped making the best digimon evolution items directly purchasable, instead you needed to use real money to purchase LOOT BOXES which have a terribly low chance (single digits) of giving you the one item you need. So yea, I'm hoping this game handles it a lot better for F2P players.

Imma give you my honest opinion on the game: Back when I first started playing I loved this game the idea of needing to hatch your own digimon and leveling them up to digivolve was one of the coolest things ever as a kid. Unfortunately for most of the stronger digimon you needed special items to unlock the digivolution for example you need a item called Gungnir in order to unlock Gallantmon crimson mode you had to buy the item with real money or hope that someone sells it for a reasonable price nowadays you can get those items for way cheaper. Or back then when omegamon was first added you had to do quests for both agumon and gabumon in order to unlock omegamon if you wanna do this you need to get to digimon maze F3 and kill infermon meaning you need to do a disgusting amount of quests to get there (that is completely impossible nowadays cuz of all the botters sitting there killing everything before the mobs even spawn) but yeah if I knew about the game going only downhills i would have never started playing it. But since I spent too much money on it already I still play it from time to time

I mean from what I saw it's just Digimon Masters with face lift. Basically everything you mention is from base DMO. Tamers halth is a stamina bar that fills up slowly while in combat zone aka anything other then Dats. I hope to see big changes, but what I saw it appears to be more visual changes with potential changes. Not holding my breath cause if I remember correctly this was annouced awhile back as a essentially a game update.

First about you video and to answer some of you questions. Abilities you simply gained by leveling up and most digis had 2 some had 3. There waslittle strategy to it. Some digimon didnt even use them becouse they didn't do dmg for example Belzeemon had such best attack speed in the game and his animations were too long and you got more dmg of of simply auto attacking. there is also skill breaking but that is simply using certain ability mid auto attack to cancel auto animation and get more dmg off that way but not many digimon could skill break well anyway. Tamer HP didn't matter. The blue bar under Hp mattered in early game. It is called Soul of something like that. It is consumed evry time you evolve and to keep them in that form for a certain period of time. In late game it didn't matter since they added permanet aura so you never ran out. To evolve into Jogress digimon you needed Jogress chip and they had duration like 1 day chip 30 day chip etc and it was annoying but at some point they added permanent chip but ofc you had to pay for it or buy it form a market which wasnt that cheap at that time. Evolution stage only mattered in early game and bosses since once you got enough seals (which i talk about later) you could literly kill lvl 46 with lvl 1 Rookie digimon of course at level about 100 you wanted max stage to speed things up becouse rookie didnt one shot and they gave mobs way more hp. I played this game for 5-6 years and i made couple friends there and we started playing together and had a lot of fun . As someone down in the comments said hatching was annoying since you wanted your digimon as big as possible cuz size meant more stats and you had to grind meterials and eggs ot hatch. You could hatch them as 3/5 which you never wanted but the time you got to 4/5 while hatching you egg probably broke anyway and getting 5/5 was very hard from regular eggs. Ofc if you payed or grinded some money you could get 5/5 egg that wouldn never break while hatching Despite that Original DMO wasn't half bad at the begining when game was accesible too evrybody, when the hardest contet was Devimon Raid on File Island. Xuanwamon Zhuqiamon Baihumon and Quinglongmon werent that bad either cuz they were doable with normal Jogress digimon like Alphamon or heck even Beelzemon becouse he had attribute advantage in Baihu raid and he was like the best digi for it if you knew what you were doing. The only bad part of getting to this point were accessories with good stats becouse you had to use stones you buy from cash shop(real money) , get very little imo from events of buy from somebody else and you had to roll 4 (later 5) desired stat names on each of them and then with diffrent stones you rolled stat numbers cuz there was a cap on how much for eg. ATK you could get and of course you wanted it as high as possible and it got so annoying doing it on 5 accessories evry time you got higher tier accessories. The seal system which improved your stats permanently after you unlocked it complety was tedious grind aswell. For example to get max stat of a seal you had to grind 3000 seals from that digimon. There were seals for each stat for example Giromon max seal gave 300 ATK Guilmon 100 ATK Cherymon 400 HP etc. Griding 3000 of those depeding on the digimon could take up a week of playing 6-8 hours evry day and even more on harder seals. Despite that to unlock seals you still had to buy Seal Openers to even be able to use Digimon Seals i tihnk you had to have 1 opener for 50 evry 50. Cosidering that there were like 10-15 digimon to all stats each(HP DEF ATK EVASON DODGE HIT RATE, CRIT) it was one big grind fest. And now as far as i know there are even more seals. Some even only obtainable through raids and dungeon which spawn like evry 2 hours and you only get one Seal. And all of this wasn't even the worst part cuz you could get thorugh it for free at some point you just had to put a lot of hours into the game. And in Move Games era we got Tokyo maps and new digivice which you had to grind raids in order to obtain it. I might be wrong here but you could get it in about a month of playing if you went to evry raid that spawned evry 2 hours but that is if you played like 2 hours a day and then of course roll for stats on digivice. The Tokyo Dungeons were so hard that only top players could actualy complete them like Myotismon Dungeon and there were only couple of digimons that could actualy survive and that is Omegamon X and Alphamon X . Rest of Digimon couldnt even compete cuz even you had max account you couldn't survive due to dugeon bosses doing more dmg with certain attack than you had HP or were too slow at killing causing a team wipe. Omegamon X was locked behind loot box and had a 0.5 % to drop. Even whales couldn't get if if they got unlucky. Alphamon X was free at the begginign for 1 or 2 events but wasnt nearly as over powered as Omegamon X and you had to grind a lot more stats to get him rolling and then came more digimons locked behind boxes with impossible odds like Zeed Milleniumon, Omegamon Alter-B (which i was like extremly super lucky to get on my 8th loot box with 0,5 % i was like 1 of the 6-8 people on the server that had him but wasnt nearly as op in Tokyo dungeons since he is Virus and attribute advantage meant a lot in this game and all Tokyo raid were Virus Darkness so you wanted Omegamon or Alphamon) and more. I think there was like 1 event where you could get Omegmon X 2 years after his relsease but many people left the game by that point since late game players couldn't get the best digimons and newer players could naver catch up to late game becouse there were gatekept by super massive grindfest. There were couple more stupid mechanics that could make your digimon stronger like cloning but they made it easier down the line but still cost a lot of ingame money to max a digimon. Despite the fact that Move Games is not the original publisher for DMO Global (it is Joymax) the game got worse after they took over and they were the ones to introduce Pay2Win(lootboxes) i can't have high hopes for this game. If this is just a graphical remaster as someone mentioned and if evry account goes over i might log in to run around for a bit with my to see how cool my digis look in new graphics but im afraid they might kill game aswell unless they learnt their lesson which i highly doubt. I know it is a MMO and you are supposed to grind but the sheer amount of grind and luck based vertical progression made this game miserable and adding paywall to that did not help either. Sorry if this is hard to read since english is not my first language but i wanted to share my experience. I really loved the game for what it was but it got killed.

Don't get too excited for this one guys. It's basically an old Digimon MMO with an HD face lift. This game is not only very grind heavy, but it's also very paywall heavy. Just play Digimon Cybersleuth, Survive or world next order. you are much better off. Not to mention that this game is gonna be run by gameking. So keep expectations EXTREMELY low.

As a long time player, I love the core structure of this game and it plays akin to Digimon world 2 closest with mid battle mechanics but a "gotta get em all" grinding style which isnt for everyone. As for the "Evolution" game, we as players expect it will be a more or less 1:1 recreation of the current game system, with rebalances, newer digimon, old events culled, some added events, and a new coat of paint in the same engine, same maps, added postgame, etc but not much else. No expansion content. Gacha systems, etc. The tamers they picked were part of a promotion for the show at the time. They are also using the base game as a starting area/early arc for new players from the previous game and reusing the tutorial and arena systems. Otherwise, same game, just a shiny coat of paint. Basically they're pulling what PSO2 did but less so.

So if this is a remaster of an MMO is it relaunching as an MMO or is it getting a rerelease? Does the original game have an English version? I am so confused...

I played this game for a long time and it's incredible and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a game but I stopped about 9 years ago and I stopped because it's too p2w and little by little it became difficult to play and have a good experience and have fun playing. I think this big change in the game, besides being beautiful, looks better, but I think it needs to be more accessible

Togemon likely only had 1 skill due to lvl. While it is said to be a graphical remaster, I do hope more from it. Since it‘s a whole new engine with way less restrictions than the old outdated one from DMO.

The original DMO didn't require the player to spend anything to get a cool digimon, unless you actually wanted of the digimons that could actually do content in the game...The 4 Digimon that could do content were around 500 dollars each in a gacha, but you still needed to do around 1~2 months of daily quests to unlock them AFTER getting them on the gacha.

I just hope they improve the gane security, as hackers were horrible in original dmo.

The problem with the Digimon MMOs (and the Gacha games) has been companies like Game King and, most of all BanCo, use the game as a cash cow. I remember playing both of the Digimon MMOs when they were S. Korean exclusives and they were grindfests then. After they were released outside of Korean, the Microtransactions went absolutely mental.

It's great that we're getting this. Looks super sweet. But I'm a console player and I can only wish that these Digimon games would make it to consoles. Not only did the complete edition of Digimon CyberSleuth never get a Playstation release (while the first vanilla CyberSleuth is even removed from the PS store) but the Next Order updated version also only got PC and Switch ports while Playstation is stuck with the inferior vanilla release. Shame.

Something like this: Palmon gets 2nd ability at lvl 5, evolves to Togemon at lvl 12, Togemon unlocks 2nd and 3rd ability at lvls 18 and 24, unlocks Lilimon at 30, so on.

They might have taken it down because a lot of people (myself included) correctly identified it as a reskin of DMO and called out the issues with that game. Trailers are supposed to get people excited, and I think the only people who were excited for it were the ones who didn't know that DMO existed.

I've been playing DMO since beta (for global). The only real problem the game has is its extreme Pay-to-win elements. Yes, the English translation is ASS, but there's not really any story to follow anyway. If you cared what the graphics looked like though, I think you're missing out on a lot of games with that kind of mindset...

Sorry to break it to you but it seems you didn't play DMO enough or just didn't remember but... everything you mentioned in 3:50 onwards in terms of mechanics, are already existing mechanics in DMO. Digimon Masters Evolution is not a new game. Its just DMO with new shaders. If you didn't like DMO for anything except graphics, you won't be liking this one either.

I always feel like this is a weird only reason I haven’t picked up a Digimon game no matter how cool it looks and maybe its my autism that makes me be so nitpicky on this but I got so attached to when the Digimon say 'So-and-so-mon digivolve to!...Other-so-and-so-mon!' Without that it just kinda seems lame to me. Again it could be the BEST looking game, voice acting, best customization ever, etc. But if it doesn’t have them say it I'm sadly not interested 😕. Although...maybe if they ever give us my boy Wizardmon I MAY have to make an exception ❤ My also other make or break nitpick is camera angles of the characters. I get they want to show off the landscape etc but if I can barely see my character than whats the point?

as much as DMO had a special spot in my heart, it started with a HIGH F2P Friendly with items in cash shop optional, but as new digimon came out and more mechanics came out they slowly switch from F2P Farming to P2P or get nothing mentality, almost EVERYTHING now is cash only you want the riding item, Cash, you want the bm but dont have the in game currency to buy it from others pay it with cash, Oh the server got many hacks causing the economy of the game to go out of wack making it impossible for new players, lack of staff involvement in issues ( just plainly ignored), even if some stuff can be farmed now the damage was already done and most players that play now are people who spend around 100-400$ daily with a rare few people who are starting the game but quitting after a week or 2, and its sad cause this is for EVERY digimon MMO so far, DBO, GDRO ( WORST of them all scammers and liars devs = same devs as GDMO) and prob the same will happen with futur digimon mmo where it will be F2P Friendsly and then suddenly change and shift to P2P heavy i hope they can proove us wrong but so far theire all the same

Just found this at random but while it looks clean. If it's being run by gameking like the every other digimon mmo, I'm not gonna hold my breath just due to the gacha-money grab hellscape the games have been. Now if we have a different team running the show, my interest may peak just a little.

This isn't a new game, all the progress will be carried over is just an engine+visual upgrade

Man it's clear you didn't do much research on this at all, you can already swap camera between digi and tamer on the old one, the tamers have hp/mp because that is the resource used to keep your digimon evolved also there's tamer skills in the game that give small buffs /heals /shields /ect. There are rumors floating around that it's mostly going to be a graphic related update to the base game so the old shitty systems will most likely return perhaps updated but it's still going to be a cashgrab. Then you talk about the skills used and unlocked by the evolution you can't swap them out nor can u switch between them you just unlock some skills per evolution line and that's that. Lastly the area's shown are the D-Terminal hub, File island maps mostly Village of the Beginning, Silver lake and Silent Forest. All that said i hope the devs don't fuck it up, make something good this time and that they actually localize this game because there's a huge issue on the origional game with country restrictions, lawsuits, issues with licensing, hackers, scammers and more.

The biggest problem SO FAR,is that its so GREEDY,that Jeff Bezos himself would call it greedy if he ever played. Spending money on the game HAS to be optional independently of what u wanna achieve

They have been teasing thisn since 2020 with pictures and other updates, it didn't pop out of nowhere. You can already switch to fighting with digimon in dmo. this is nothing new. You have to level up your digimon to get to the next digievolution with each having their own skills to unlock by being a certain level and having skill points by killing stuff using the skills to level them up make them stronger. this is in dmo and also in the remasterd version nothing new. You should really do more research on a topic before making a video like this that. You would have proven all your guesses wrong by just playing DMO or reading the wiki.

You do say early on that you played DMO for like 5 minutes but almost everything you talk about here is from DMO, you just needed to, well, play the game for longer. To a lot of people who actually played DMO, this just looks like the original with a graphics update and that's probably where some of these dislikes come from. I don't mind people being optimistic but it can be jarring to see what looks like the same thing with a fresh coat of paint be praised and analysed for features that have already been explored.

If the game is free, it will be P2W, the original was a grindfest with horrendous P2W elements. And unless it's made by someone else who just wants an actual good Digimon MMO to exist, I don't trust it will be any different

I played hubndreds of hours of the first game, only to get stuck by the huge amount of buffs they started adding after the rings, I couldn't continue the game playing for free, everyone was a botter or a casher. I see this has the same battle system...not worth it. Too much grind, barely any strategy and too much cash.

If we going to use a digimon on end game. I'll pass. What's the point of having variety of digimon when you'll just use omnimon clearing all content. And compare to genshin, it waaaay less grind Compare to dmo. And the script farm is basically stupid way to farm or gaining level.

Well that was inaccurate as hell. You really should do at least minimal research before dropping a video on the quality of something. 1. You can switch between tamer and Digimon in DMO 2. Skills work exactly the same in DMO, you have to level to unlock your other skill(s) 3. You could always evolve mid-combat in DMO. Absolutely always. 4. Move also did DMO. It's not like it's some big shift. Really, comparing DMO to DME without putting literally any attention into DMO is just a little too lazy. Side note: Digimon Super Rumble is very similar in that it's much like a visually upgraded version of Digimon RPG/Digimon Battle. But fewer people know about Digimon Battle. All have been done by Move though.

You absolutely cannot play this company's game. People management is lacking. GM provides management rights and GM tools for general players. This player becomes the CM and can block ordinary players at will according to personal preferences. Your efforts and money will be wasted. The Digimon Master Online Hong Kong server is a good example.
