It''s cool but at 54 I feel like I'm watching Tommy Lee at 60 showing his dick in concert, or listening to an old Stephen Pearcy talk about getting hammered with all the F-ing swearing. These days I wince.. the content would be so much better without all the F bombs. I love the content though. Love Charlie and Ridley as well!

Totally correct. In the U.S. it was only One Way Ticket. DEFINITELY a ballad, and a great one at that, IMO. L.A. Guns’ self titled debut is one of the best first albums ever … up there with Out of the Cellar for best debuts. Also, The Missing Piece was two albums BEFORE Black Diamonds. Love ya, Hair Metal Guru … but go back to your L.A. Guns.

@@HairMetalGuru419 That is hilarious AF! I was 11 years old. I had floor tickets. I actually really love Ratt - Reach For The Sky. Ratt was really good but a little muddy in the mix if I remember correctly. Kix and Fox were incredible. I remember Britny having such a crystal clear crisp sound. I was really into their album and loved their set. Britny was from Philly and they were in their hometown so the audience was really behind them. Massive response. I had heard of Kix but hadn’t listened to them and they blew me away. The sounded like a very seasoned arena rock band. Audience was rocking. Ratt was so-so which sucked because it was the only time I ever saw the band. The mix was just bleh. However, they did put their all into it. They didn’t seem to be dialing it in.

When you mention all the Top 40 hits these bands had, don't forget that this is was on pop radio. The kind of stations that now play Taylor Swift, etc. were playing Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Van Halen, Whitesnake, Poison, Bon Jovi, GnR, etc. all day long.

Great episode as always! Got my Glitter Litter CD last week :) I know ive mentioned it before but a video focusing on the whole bubbleglam sub genre would be awesome. It may never have gained mainstream attention but bands like Glamour Punks, Tryx, Queeny Blast Pop, The Mistakes,Champange Suicide, Heart Throb Mob, Revlon Red, The Peppermint Creeps, Bubblegum Mafia and Sugar Shock (featuring Andreas of Glitter Litter) among many more are a unique and often overlooked part of hair metal and glam history.

Just watched on YT "ozzy osbourne live moscow 1989" he KILLED it. Queensryche's "Operation Mindcrime" is probably my best concept album of all times. It sounds like we are of the same age. Great list. Not much to add so I'll share some random-but related-thoughts. I saw Girlschool in 1983, opening for Quiet Riot. Very good live act. They were actually "mentored" by Lemmy from Motorhead. My band opened for Slammin' Gladys in 1992. They were cool guys. Hang on to that Mississippi Nights flyer. That was THE club to play back in the day (it's gone unfortunately). Just a partial list of bands I saw there between 1989 and 1993--- Sleeze Beez Britny Fox Great White Enuff ZNuff Faster Pussycat Tora Tora Bang Tango Danger Danger Lillian Axe That's all the hair bands I could remember off the top of my head, I'm sure there were more. I even played there myself a couple times. Mississippi Nights wasn't strictly a rock club because I saw quite a number of new wave type bands there too.

Another excellent video with HBB! 1988 has so many classics. Honorable mentions for me would be House of Lords- S/T, Brighton Rock- Take a Deep Breath, Circus of Power - S/T, China- S/T, Ratt- Reach for the Sky, Jetboy - Feel the Shake, Killer Dwarfs- Big Deal, Zodiac Mindwarp - Tattooed Beat Messiah, Europe - Out of this World, Yngwie- Odyssey, and King Kobra III. In the vein of Operation Mindcrime, I also love Crimson Glory- Transcendence, Fates Warning - No Exit, King's X - Out of the Silent Planet, King Diamond - Them, and Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (though I can live without hearing Can I Play With Madness ever again).

@@JohnnyBlade-de7id most of the bands we love got suckered in during the early 2000's to those awful cleopatra label greatest and latest packages with re-worked songs, and terrible remix's. the faster pussycat one was awful, as was the warrant release. those remake albums were so bad. in addition, was the tribute albums with poor quality tributes done of bon jovi, iron maiden, metallica etc....all with jani, corabi, and others trying to make some money during an awful time. the worst ever was bret michaels, show me your hits. complete with terrible versions of poison songs, and even a song with pauly shore babbling over it.
