The great and awful thing about being a good tank is that everyone and their alts want to do dungeons with you. I feel I have to since DPS don't have instant ques.

Gotta be honest, I don't mind Occulus too much. Violet Hold on the other hand is by far my least favorite dungeon. It sounds silly, but it feels like you're being punished for going fast when you have to wait around after every pull for the next portal to spawn.

Sweet summer child. I remember the time before dungeon finder, when Violet Hold was the one you did all the time because it was the only one where you didn't have to fly out of Dalaran to do a heroic.

When I was younger my brother had to go use the bathroom and told me when anything pops up to hit accept because he’d been waiting for like 20 minutes and he left and then the dungeon Que popped up but I was too scared to hit accept since I thought it was for the wrong thing lmao. Long story short he got back and I was like yea something popped up but I didn’t know what it was for and he was so pissed he kicked me out of his room and was like now I gotta wait another half hour. lmfao looking back on it after playing wow myself now I see how frustrated he was.

I am so glad i quit the game at least in vanilla this was not a problem if you had to go to the toilet players would just wait a little longer for you unless it took hours and they found someone else but by that point you probably have bigger problems.

The secret is to ragequit a dungeon after the first boss so you get ID and the RHC doesn't queue you again for the same dungeon

I actually went back and checked if it was the same group as in the healer queue video before it was mentioned lol. Only Déáthz didn't make it and they had Balddeath instead. This is why I love this content.

Violet Hold was one of my favorite it was really easy and chill you could literally nearly AFK for 40% of it without missing a single fight and it wasn't taking longer to do that any other dungeons really.

Exactly! It was Utgarde Keep except instead of running from boss to boss, you zoned out in the center until you heard a portal appear. I never understood the hate. When you're farming dungeons they're ALL going to be boring slogs

I recall a trick in the oculus where we killed the first boss which would give us a dungeon id and THEN kick each other out. It would ensure we don’t get summoned to the oculus a second time when queuing

I remember LFD (Either right after it launched or when Cataclysm hit) and I was called to heal for deadmines. Quickly into it this Undead rogue kept pulling instead of the Orc Warrior and I kept speaking up for him. Well, there was a Tauren hunter with us who was grouped up with that rogue and after I proposed to vote kick the Undead, said in /say 'Votekick THIS!' and shot the explosive barrels in the dungeon I was standing next to thinking it would kill me. It was hilarious, absurd, and we barely made it through... but it was funny and I'll never forget it.

I actually like VH and the Oculus. My most hated dungeon by far in WOTLK is Halls of Stone. The first boss always kills someone because they are not paying attention or don't spread and that Brann encounter...

At the end of wrath I was geared with full tier 10 and could steamroll all the dungeons as tank or dps. So I ran all of the dungeons in one night with friends it only took 2-3 hours. And we would troll each other trying to pull the dungeon faster. Dance around waiting for waves of enemies or dance in the pub and wait for Arthas to hurry up in Culling.

Instead of an instant queue, you wait forever, only for the fucking tank to immediately leave and you have to wait again, and again, until someone is finally willing to do it. When Classic Wow came out I used to multibox two paladins. I'd tank and heal in dungeons. Surprisingly it was actually working quite well until I hit Sunken Temple...people would get so pissed off, LOL. So i just switched to either have 1 pally heal or tank, and the other would DPS.

What’s funny about Oculus is that it’s actually a pretty profitable dungeon when you need triumph for gear. You get I think 4 triumph of bosses and it’s a very fast dungeon (if people don’t get fking lost and agro mobs) Violet Hold on the other hand, yeah, just fking kick me.

TBH Violet Hold is free real estate if you're just looking for badges. You can't speedrun it, sure but you don't have to do much. Never minded Occulus much either. The dragonflying section got old fast, but still it wasn't that big of a pain.

This was the exact WOTLK experience for me, however, no dungeon was left more on the spot for me than Halls of Reflection (the last heroic only dungeon of xpac)… Insta 3 people leaving without saying a word.

I tanked as a Prot Warrior back during WofLK and VH was the easiest dungeon to tank. I mean, you just run over to the glowing portals, gathered up the mobs, and killed stuff. Easy clear every time (unless you were brain dead).

Oculus is actualy one of the fastest if you have people that know how to play.. just pick 4 bronze and 1 green on the highest GS... he will do like 500.000k by spell if 4 beams on it.

The switches triggered the next wave, but they didn’t work until the current wave was done. I think you could also use them to kill trash in the miniboss fights, idk. I tanked VH so much I knew the position and the timing of each wave like a metronome, but so did everyone else. Never really used the lamp/levers much. By the time ICC came out, everyone was over geared, and the only dungeon with “useful” loot, ie a higher ilvl ring ? was Oculus (sic) or people hoping to get a boost in item level so they could run ICC dungeons or just to get an ilevel 226 in their bag to bypass the ilvl check. Prior to LFG, you didn’t bother with dungeons outside of guild requests. Afterwards, that’s all you did. Prior to trial of the crusader, people came into VH in quest gear which made it a significant DPS and group challenge. Especially the first boss skadi and having to harpoon the boss or avoid the frost breath. I have distinct memories of dual wield tanking my frost DK and soloing the dungeon when 3 people dropped, it finally became a challenge when the healer died.

I got all my IRL boys playing wrath and im the only tank and we have two groups of 3 healers, 1 tank and the rest playing DPS and they are already fighting over me tanking for their group and which healer should heal me. gonna be fun.
