@@cokemaniac1 true. I ran the Ravenloft module, the Strahd one, I beefed it up a bit but still, it took the players 14 months from start to finish. No quick travel. They had to fight for every step, every breath. (That was due to the horror setting, nothing was to be easy). They didn't level fast but it was the most memorable module of our lives.

4:38 Well, Grandelius said in his post-match interview that MVL considered playing Nh5 in that position (they spoke briefly after the game) - but that MVL felt it looked too dangerous with his king still stuck in the centre. Grandelius also said that IF MVL had played Nh5, Nils would not have gone for a draw by repetition. He would have instead continued attacking and asking questions of MVL, though if MVL defended correctly it would have eventually become a draw.

After 5 rounds, Nils has sole possession of first place. Not only that, he has THREE wins, which is TWO MORE than anyone else. How impressive is this accomplishment? Well, most of the field (8 out of 14) still haven't got their FIRST win. He stands a very good chance of ending this tournament at 2700+.

At 3.34, wouldnt it be a better move to go Ne4 compared to Nb3 as black? Black would be up material

I don't understand why everyone's saying Grandelius came out of nowhere - the guy has been a secondary in Magnus Carlsen's preperation team for several World Championships!

and as of now Grandelius is the leader of the tournament, which is really impressive, given that he won against much higher rated players. He is #78 in the ranking and he defeated #19 (Duda) and now #5 !(MVL). I am really looking forward to his games against Carlsen, Caruana, Firouzja and Giri.

I'm not sure, but he might be able to trade knights there, and white's knight is amazing so seems like a waste

I checked, and agadmator has a vid on it. Basically puts black in a tricky position, where there are ways to trap queen if played incorrectly, and also gain other advantages.
