This looks amazing, already hope this is a long series. That being said I'm concerned about the big about cards being upgraded, how substantial is that mechanic? Generally "spend more time and money to have strictly better versions of the same stuff" is horrible for the balance of any PvP and they've stapled it onto a genre that is already brutal to newer players, seems like a recipe for making it really hard to find fair matchups once you get out of the "fresh newbie vs fresh newbie" phase of the game.

Love the art style. Something between Borderlands and this new Warhammer 40k retro shooter. If it was any other genre, I would probably play it, but competitive shooters aren't my cup of tea at all. I will say though that the 1v1 concept is quite intriguing and I am surprised that it's not more prominently used in other shooter games, as it really allows for a test of pure skill, since third parties are removed from the equation. But maybe that chaos is what shooter fans actually like. 🤔 Either way, this definitely seems to be a great game to watch! 😁

1v1 used to be the big thing in Quake 3. I think it's less popular since having more people means you are less likely to spend an entire match getting stomped and not having fun. The cards help mix it up a bit.

@@Khrrck Yeah, that makes sense. It just has to feel better to lose, when you can blame it on things outside of your direct control. Having a losing streak in a 1v1 shooter must feel terrible. XD

Devs said that if they ever have to close the servers, they'd make it possible to play peer-to-peer so other people can host matches, which makes it feel safer to buy. Esp since 1v1 games are easy to just grab a friend for.

That would a terrible nerf to yourself XD Though it's meant to be used when you've caught someone in a bad position so you can just light them up with ease for a little bit while they can't really fight back, but yeah if your just throwing them out in fire fight the slow down helps them just as much as it does you.
