Funny thing is that I remember those interviews for that movie. And he was absolutely right, everyone was blowing the movie out of proportion. It was Scooby Doo. It's not very profound. Sure they did a great first movie. But it's still just a silly Scooby Doo Movie. And Freddie was the best to describe it as for what it really was.

Fun fact for all you GotG fans out there, James Gunn actually wrote the screenplays for both Scooby-Doo (2002) and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004). The first one was originally supposed to be an R-rated film.
