Welcome back!! So glad you're here as I take you with me on another regular day as an entrepreneur and Interior Designer in Vancouver (aka Raincouver - as you can see in this video). The overarching theme in this video for me, was all about feeling. Following your gut, reading your clients, staying positive and just feeling good about what you are doing in the moment. There is so much to do with FEELING in business and even though following what you're feeling can be difficult, it always seems to lead me in the right direction. I really hope you enjoy this video and are able to take something away from it with you into your own journey.
Let me know what you thought in the comments below and don't forget to give it a thumbs up if you liked it!

It's so great to see you growing! I think you being real on your channel is the best thing that could have happened. Entrepreneurship is HARD so It's great to finally see someone acknowledging it, yet still getting up every morning with a killer outfit and getting back into the hustle. You make "running on fumes" look fabulous. There's very few women in this type of spotlight (as you said) so enjoy the fact that you're touching many of us with your inspirational talks, hard work, and overall genuine personality. Much love from LA 💕💕

One of the reasons I decided to join design school is because of the emotion that is required to successfully design a space. I was really lost in my schooling. As a biology major, I felt so uninterested. Although I was making great grades, I knew that it wasn't the path for me. One day I got to thinking about how I need to be honest with myself-what do you want in life?? Through compiling all of my interests (one including studying human behavior), I found one day while helping my grandma pick out new flooring, that certain colors or textures made her feel uncomfortable (she wanted more of a rustic look) Then, I realized that interior design can satisfy all of my interests. I love this video! Such raw & honest material

Hi Madison! That's so cool that you switched over from Biology to Interior Design - Good Choice! ;) It's true that interior design requires a lot of emotion. A good space is all about how the space feels. Thanks so much for watching my content. Hope to see you again here soon! xK

Karen this was my favorite video to date! The part where you mentioned Gary V vs Female entrepreneurs was on point! I own my own design biz and before you I only listened to him and other male entrepreneurs, and now that I have you I'm just so excited lol today you mentioned "feelings" gasp lol I never hear the guys use that word... although they do say "gut" 😆 same difference? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Well now I don't have to beat myself up because I'm that type of person, I have empathy, compassion, and connect with my clients on a different level, it's not just about money...it's hard for me to explain but you basically said it in the video! Thank you! I hope you schedule some time out for some R&R ❤️ ~Genesia

Karin, You are such a encouragement! Thank you for empowering women and showing us how to go after what you want. You are hands down a great Interior Design role model. I appreciate all the business content you put out there. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!! I have my Interior Design degree. Was not able to go on my own right away, had kids and stayed home. I started my business in 2006 and didn't push it very much- little babies took my focus. I work part time for me and part time for a kitchen an bath firm. I want to be on my own and want to make it on my own again. I will be planning my next venture and you have really inspired me. Thank you!!

I'm a business owner myself and have been following Gary Vee for some time, but as you mentioned, I was looking for a female role model in the business world. Omg Karin, love so much ur ideas on women in business, u r speaking so much truth!!! Women are just "built" differently than men so they are not used to present themselves so much, I feel like it is not in our nature although our society needs it so much, more women as leaders and more of them in public, etc. Love ur thoughts also about intuition, u are really hitting the point! And awesome job at keeping this real - but really real vlog! Love it! Keep up that great work! Inspirational!

Karin~Designing a good space is all about how the space feels when you walk into it: If it feels comfortable, warm, relaxing, exciting. That's something you can't learn in school. You can learn the technical in order to execute something, but really being able to feel the way a creative space based on feeling, being able to feel the clients, that's usually the thing you will pay attention to the most. You can feel it when the client is feeling excited, anxious, impressed, unimpressed, nervous or cautious. I'm always responding to how a client feels in order to make decisions about the project. This is also something you can't teach.

You are so true to who you are Karin. Feeling is exactly what interior design is about. Karin I understand that feeling of you feeling like you are still eating shit. I started in interior design in 1985. And also taught interior design at Uni. I kind of wished we could chat about some of the issues you have discussed Because there is a new level of understanding that I have come to learn how interior designers can work differently so we don’t get so exhausted.

I love your series 110% ! I work at a design firm currently and had minimal training but it’s insane the amount I’ve learned within such a short time and now I’m being put in leadership positions in the firm because of dedication and rolling with my gut when it came to my behavior in the firm, design suggestions etc. I’m so happy to have the chance I have and to even being a project manager and leading the procurement dept and architect, collaborating and heading projects ! I’ve gotten so into it that come my beautiful tax return, I’ll be register for a certification course and hopefully receiving my residential interior design certificate and becoming a DSA member. One step closer to my dream of owning my own firm and ultimately being a creative director / principle designer. Love you , you’re a huge inspiration, and your amazing attitude is a huge part of the inspiration to boot !
