It’s a great episode showing Dennis’s development. At this point the gangs dynamic is so predictable to him he now records all of them.

@@user-sw5nc9pm9f I think at this point Dennis feels so empty from his constant control of the gang that he feels isolated, doing this at least makes it so he doesn’t feel that alone.

Just love the blasting of sitcoms that used laugh tracks. "And having those people laugh, tells me when i should laugh!" Such a great frank line. And the way dennis manipulates the laugh track and the different audience reactions throughout the episode just shows how dumb the idea even is. Fantastic episode as always

It’s not a dumb idea though. It actually works. Some of those shows with laugh tracks are moderately funny when you watch. But if you see the same scene without the laugh track....yikes, it’s not funny at all. It demonstrates the group-think of the human brain.

@@roems6396 its an incredibly dumb idea because the show is making you think you should feel a certain emotion, when that should be subject to the viewer. I shouldnt laugh at something , or find aomething funny just because there was a joke made, and it was supposed to be funny. Its just trying to make you like what youre watching more than you actually are. When you watch those shows, you see the awkward timing of the actors waiting for the "audience to laugh" when theres actually nobody there lol. It really is a dumb concept and little bit of trickery

@@losbloontas Yeah, it is trickery...and it works for many sitcoms. Have you ever watched a Big Bang Theory episode without the laugh track? It’s terrible! However, with the laugh track it was the top show on t.v. for years, and made everyone involved millions of dollars. So in those cases, it’s not only NOT dumb, it’s genius. But yeah, it’s annoying nowadays and a really funny show needs no laugh track.

@@roems6396 the point though is that Sunny, along with other shows, are funny without an “audience”. We choose what’s funny. And the reason why some of those shows are awkward without a laugh track is because of the very scripted lines. The timing etc. The way Sunny is scripted is more natural. Perhaps some of those others are still funny if they didn’t pause the way they do and have such perfect lines.

The kinda funny thing is, when you put a laugh track on a show that doesn't need one, it makes the show worse, in contrast to a show like Big Bang which is unwatchable without a laugh track.

It is impressive how many great creative ideas they can still turn out this late in the series, where so many other shows have long since jumped the shark. No to mention how fun they are go back to rewatch the early episodes, and see their base personalities start out.

Uncle Jack will probably always be my favorite character. “Hey Bonnie I just came to pick up that hard drive I accidentally left under the floor boards” is easily the best line of the episode it might be a top 20 line of the show

It reminds me of The King Of Queens episode when they put a nanny cam to watch Arthur & the guys discover it on the big screen in the garage while channel surfing & get locked in on reality TV starring Arthur! 😂😂😂😂😎😎

Watching this a second time. I noticed Let's Potato Chips, a fictional brand of potato chips featured in a bunch of TV shows New Girl, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Everybody Loves Raymond, lash, Workaholics, NCIS, etc. Muppets... There's a fandom wiki, apparently... that lists all the shows.
