oh for sure, those guys are great, some are very talkative, this one was quite quiet, but it you look you can see he is looking at our every move and exactly where we casted, hes super observant.

Those guides are awesome and I always take extra special care of them, they earn every dollar. You learn so much from watching them as you were doing Neol. One Brazil guide we call "Stingray" because our first time fishing with him he was nursing a nasty month old stingray wound on his foot. He's a quiet one, he'll tilt his head down like a hawk and tip his sunglasses down, then motion you to cast to a specific spot. If you're two feet off he'll motion again, he sees stuff that you'd pass right by. Another guide had a machete glance off a branch and gash his leg, we wanted to go back to camp but he insisted on finishing out the day. They're badass.

Gregory Rappaport just so you know, the peacock bass there are butterfly peacock bass, those in the video I think we're Royal peacock bass but with the 15 species of peacock bass, it is hard to tell, good luck catching them!

At the camp they were an issue, but bug spray was all it took to keep them away. on the water, it was a non issue. There was really no "no see ums" or sand flies to speak of on this trip. Did you go with FishColombia?

@@TyPigPatrol I picked up some Picaridin lotion, they've used it worldwide for years, it's supposed to work good without the toxicity of Deet. I've done six Amazon trips in the last four years with a few different outfitters, never had a mosquito but those sand flies in March were no fun, haven't done FishColombia. The Colombia trips were Rio Tomo with Scott Nelson down here in South Florida, he's a great guy and does some amazing destinations all over the globe. His pb peacock is 25 with lots of runner-ups. Next month back to northern Brazil with Ian and Mega on the Kalua, easy trip on the big boat but to a big fish river, got a 21 and a 19 there last year and some Brazilian pros got 22s and a 24. January 27th to Las Lagunas in Colombia with Alan Zaremba, another very experienced outfitter down here. Waiting to see you hit Australia, that will be epic. We spent April in the south end and NZ but a short Murray River session came up empty as we didn't go very far upriver. At least no bugs and they don't have rabies down there so you can hold the bats.
