other than restricting airflow with tape try putting bigger main jet to compensate for the more air that should make even more HP

Hi Joe, I know I am not your dad but I have fallen off a lot of motorcycles going fast and at 70 plus miles an hour you would be surprised how much it tears you up if you are not properly protected. If you go that fast please consider wearing leathers, a helmet and gloves. I really enjoy your videos and want to see more of them. Also those welds are terrible. Maybe if you are going to keep the quad you should get the welds redone. I checked ebay and saw that you can get new plastic pieces to cover tank and grille for $55 each. Good luck and keep up the great work.

Having to use choke and cover air filters suggests an air leak somewhere. Also the high idle = lean

I think what would really take your channel to the NEXT level would be to do a build series of you creating something like this banshee in your garage. You sorta already do this with the “getting it running” phase but a build would be sick. Great vid.

Doc we hit 88mph. If you add some more plutonium, I'm sure you will reach 100mph..

just a tip you dont need to clutch once set off and shifting up gears you can shift with out using the clutch might helpo with the missing of gears

Awesome man. I don’t work on nearly as many as you do, but I’d think about rejetting those carbs. The duct tape is a quick fix, but imagine what it would do properly jetted with no restrictions on the air flow. Either way, pretty work.

yeah you need to change out the wheels and tires along with bearings and see if you can run it on a runway to check top speed then get it sold.

I knew u would get it man! And she still has a little more potential. Can hear it finally hits rev limiter in the lower gears but up in the higher gears you don't hear it. I think your carbs are tuned pretty close man. But the only issue I can see at this point is that that intake system from factory had forced air induction vents that run to the front of the bike. Forcing air in at high speeds. Forcing the slides to open when u want them to. Custom ram air induction with some household vacuum cleaner plastic tubing will do it, and just build a square sheet metal box around the filters and have the ram air go into the box. If u want to go through all that id guarantee a drastic difference. Shes way better though man. And if you ever want to sell it when your done with it on the channel, I will buy it as long as its not crazy money. I would return it to being a banshee. Ground up resto. New frame and powder coat new banshee motor lol

I recommend putting a piece of pvc tube between the filter and carb like a velocity stack it will give the restriction needed and then play with jetting

awesome. if i lived closer to you i would come full send it! did you change the main jets in all but one of the carbs? that would be a huge problem. i also dont remember how much you shimmed up the needles in the carbs. good job figurinf she was running lean, now just fine tune it, mount a good fuel tank, new bearings, bushings and brakes- ready to roll!

At least some one listens lol. That’ll do. Good job. Simple shit. U have to do the mix screw while it’s on and warm. U should not be able to start that bike without the choke. It’s definitely not tuned right. U have to sync them carbs. All that good shit. I would put a sock over them. Or u can change to the unis with a sock. But u still got to tune the carbs. U can buy a sync kit or there’s people on KZfaq that made their own. To tune the mix screw. U have to let it run for 10 mins. Turn the screw until it wants to die and turn it back to find the highest rev point that will be your tune

Get a vacuum guage and sink your carbs, they make them with 4 vaccuum gages for 4 cylinder engines like yours. Also, make sure the carb slides are all moving at the same speed and position. The pod filters can be a bugger to jet correctly, but it can be done with enough know how. First vacuum sink them and make sure the slides are sinked as well. Cool project.

Watch Out Joe! then this video, there you were pushing it to 88 MPH, and I thought, Oh GEEZ! I sure hope those Tires don't give out, cause if they do, Joe's a Goner. Next and last video would be Jade telling us that you finally Killed yourself, and she's Pissed. but, most women are Pissed. They are always Pissed. So, it is something we Men have to over look to be with them. But, I digress. . . Then when you blew past 90 MPH, I thought, Oh My, this THING is going to Fly Apart at 92 MPH, and Joe will be Smeared all over the Road Side, like just so much more Road Kill! If your metering rods are adjustable with C clips raise them one notch if they are not increase the main jets by 5, remove the duct tape.

Is the throw of the thumb throttle enough to get the carbs to wide open throttle? Meaning are the slides going all the way up?

Still sounded like it was breaking down at peak rpms. Could you try increasing the jet size instead of choking off the air? Still pretty cool though. Glad your going to iron some bugs out and make it safer before thrashing it out again.

Get a tank that fits Check over all the steering joints and bushes, seems stability is an issue. Perhaps even look into wheel spacers to extend the width of the wheel base And get the thing tuned properly Then it wont feel like such a deathtrap.

It sounds better. You may want to check into if that engine was equipped with a factory electric fuel pump. Most all newer bikes even carburated run a low psi electric pump. It sounds like its starving for fuel.

I’m 42 and have ridden since I was 7, but that thing makes me nervous as hell brother. Specifically the non factory welds. Be careful out there!!! Now get her sold so we can all stop worrying about ya man!!
