I've collected various 15 puzzle models over the years and my favourite one is a picture version of a popular vintage Australian children's TV character, Humphrey B Bear.

My father was really pro at solving the 15 puzzle, so he thought the 3x3x3 Rubik's cube wouldn't be a lot more difficult. Turns out he was totally wrong about that, and he never managed to solve the 3x3x3 Rubik's cube until now.

There IS an "algorithm" for doing it! Solve leftward '1', '2', '3' with common sense(let's call this movement A1). Then move '1' downwards, '2' and '3' leftwards(let's call this movement B1). Then you can easily place '4' in '3's original place (after A1 and before B1)(let's call this movement C1). Diagram : 1, 2, 3 (A1) 2, 3 1 (B1) 2, 3, 4 1 (C1) Then move '1' upwards, '2','3', and '4' rightwards(call it D1). 1, 2, 3, 4 Repeat until you get 2 bottom lines left. Diagram : 5, 6, 7 (A2) 6, 7 5 (B2) 6, 7, 8 5 (C2) 5, 6, 7, 8 (D2) Now you have two bottom lines left. Diagram : 1, 2, 3, 4 5, 6, 7, 8 X, X, X, X X, X, X Try to order last 3 numbers ('13', '14', '15') You need a bit of luck to 'quickly solve' but you must be able to solve it! Diagram : 1, 2, 3, 4 5, 6, 7, 8 X, X, X, X 131415 Figure out missing numbers! (In this case 9, 10, 11, 12) Look at the X's. Is the first(leftmost) 'X' equal to smaller missing number(in this case 9)? Is the second 'X' equal to 10? Is the third 'X' equal to 11? Is the fourth missing number equal to 12? P - If none of these question is 'yes'(Derangement Permutation), then you do not have to touch any upper line and solve it with in 2 bottom lines. move '13', '14', '15' to the right to solve it easily. Diagram : 1, 2, 3, 4 5, 6, 7, 8 X, X, X,15 X, ,1314 (top state) If the number is 'relatively ordered' (example bottom)(of course you need to solve to make the puzzle from top state to bottom state!) you can trivially move it to get the solution. Diagram : 1, 2, 3, 4 5, 6, 7, 8 10111215 9, ,1314 (bottom state) Q - If any of these question is yes then insert that number to the bottom. If more then two question is yes then choose the smallest number. Let's say second 'X' equal to 10. Diagram : 1, 2, 3, 4 5, 6, 7, 8 X, ,X, X 13101415 move 5, 6, 7, 8 to right to easily solve it! Diagram : 1, 2, 3, 4 X, X, 5, 6 X, ,8, 7 13101415 If the number is 'relatively ordered', move it trivially to get the solution! It may seem complicated but it's not! These types of puzzles was on my rulers in school when i was a kid... that's why i can solve 15 puzzles under 20 sec.....👍👍

I have broked the world record of the solving of the 15 puzzle unofficially. The world record was 15.211 seconds made by Fu Boyang in 24th June 2019. I have solved 15 puzzle in 11.226 seconds. I made this WR with the help of an app which is '15 Puzzle'.

At this point I’m just confused always about the fact the voicing not matching up and I forge what I am watching

I can solve any dimension 15 puzzle, BUT I know it's gonna take some time. We solve the rows in turn, first row, second row etc and leave the last two rows unsolved using something similar to how you do your rows. Then the columns until I end up with the 2x2 puzzle at the end. Finally, half of the initial configurations will lead to a solvable final puzzle, half will lead to an unsolvable one.

I bought the exact same 15 puzzle and 9 puzzle with the same timer. My fastest for the 9 puzzle is 2.213 seconds. My fastest for 15 puzzle is 6.774 seconds.

The 15 puzzle is just the Rubix Cube Lite. Instead of it being 3×3×3, 4×4×4, 5×5×5 and so on, it's 3×3, 4×4, 5×5 and so on.
