Mine just crossed 200000 and is functioning just as the day I bought it. The chassis rot I think has been pinpointed on the ones that are imported foreign used.... Local new/used do not suffer from that.

TD27 Now that was a stunning engine it was even in the cabstar but a 2.5 TD25 also in the D21 and in black old school taxi's the traditional taxi non turbo and ran for ever treat the engine and chassis she will be around for another 20 years.

Do you reckon I should rebuild the engine then add a turbo or? ive opened the oil cap with the engine is running and there is no blow by, indicates the rings are still good right? any information about turboing a td27 would be greatly appreciated. thank you

Hi the engine you have is bullet proof it was fitted in black London taxi's going back years ago in the old traditional black cab. you just need to to sort oil feed and oil return.

@@westyorkshireengineservice9160 okay and before that it never had a power climbing up hills even at 1st gear. Plus the oil in the radiator and alot of black smoke. What is the solution to the other problems?

I've got o8 d 4o try this clean your MAF sensor air cleaner throttle body and check all your small turbo pipes for vacuum leaks 4mm ones. It's all easy and cheap U tube it. Check your pulley on àc unit for resistance if huge power loss with AC on I have got kit of large turbo pipes ordered because rubber ones factory expand and are rubbish check your EGR valve and exhaust sensor s. Do all the basics yourself one at a time then drive it between changes to check. Once you careful done that you should see improvement. Then find competent person to run engine scan to see what really is going on at least they shouldn't find list of basics faulty to rob U to replace. My backyard tune help me heaps and really isn't that hard to do
