Just an addition to the above. The engine light came on after adding injector cleaner into the fuel tank which then gave me code P2298 and P1021

D40 engins are designed to be lemons,,,, changed mine out for a 4 cylinder Cummings.

A quick question....... Which year was the timing chain issue addressed on YD25 D40? Reason why I am asking is, I wish to buy a used Navara D40 but am not sure how to check if the car has a double timing chain without opening the engine.

Thank you Sir. I have just replaced the fuel filter in my 2013 pathfinder ( YD25 ). It would not start so I tried your trick. I left the engine light flash at different rates for about 2 minutes then turned off the ign then started the car. It idles a lot better now. I really appreciate your wisdom

Do you know if the Spain built d23 has a bracket at the bottom of the lower radiator hoses? My Thailand built D23 just cooked because of this issue and Nissan Australia are saying that it’s not part of the recall because the Thailand built engines have a bracket at the bottom of the hoses where they join together… any help would be much appreciated cheers

Hi, another Aussie here with a 2007 R51 YD25, so far in 8 months of owning, i have changed all the vac lines, boost solenoid, fuel filter, air filter, SCV, deleted the egr pipe and plated both ends including derestriction plate, always put fuel treatment in my diesel, intercooler and intakes pipes are a combo of alloy and silicone, turbo sounds like it spools fine but i at times lack acceleration severely then other times it has plenty of power, when its lacking take off it sounds really quiet then suddenly itll have exhaust note noticably and go like a scalded cat, would that be dpf or any other ideas? Oh that's definitely it. I'm getting the exact same noise though only occasionally and almost always at highway speeds at around 2100rpm but never under load. It's often accompanied by the DFP light coming on and I wonder if those are related..

I have a 2009 d40 at my workshop. I take it for a drive and when it warms up it starts blowing blue smoke and then grey. I stop the Navara and i have a strong diesel smell with grey smoke then it stops smoking.. I disconnect the dpf pressure sensor and the engine stops smoking. I drive it and no smoke. Any thoughts
