I think there's going to be a ceiling for how many times Disney can dip into the Marvel well for content. The new Antman film is underperforming right now. I worry about the parks going too far by adding too many permanent attractions tied to Marvel franchises. That having been said, I am a theater nerd, and I think this musical is a good idea. But I'm glad it's being billed as a "limited run." Hopefully it's an "EPCOT Forever"-style placeholder for a more permanent Broadway caliber show at the Hyperion.

Could a limited run of Rogers indicate Disney already has other plans for that space, and Rogers is just filler for now? I'm thinking a movie to go along with the 70th anniversary of Disneyland. They had one in the Lincoln theatre for the 50th anniversary. Using the Hyperion places it across from the animation studios facade, splits up crowds (gives crowds a reason to go to DCA for the 70th instead of swarming DL), encourages purchases of parkhoppers, and doesn't require shutting down an attraction (Lincoln) for a full year.

This is so great! I am glad that fun things like this are allowed to grow into something at Disney. I am going to meet you half way on the giant MCU blow out of DCA. There is definitely room to grow but I don't see them over taking that whole area. But lets get to the real news of the day. Brickey, the person who died on Everest went on Cosmic Rewind??

You said it, shoe-horn. That's how I feel about Rogers the ONE-ACT musical in the Hyperion theatre. They just stuck something in a space that might as well be bulldozed for a clean slate. I'm with Cliff on Rogers the Musical, I'll skip it. I adore musicals but truly disliked that bit in Hawkeye. All that said, I hope it does please those who are excited.

I'm so looking forward to this and can not wait for the hilarity! I also think your prediction for more Marvel inside of DCA is pretty accurate, especially since Marvel is limited at WDW. If Disney creates a unique experience limited to DCA, it will only generate interest and encourage more out of town guests to visit more often.

LAME. Though I’m tempted to say “at least the building won’t go unused anymore,” I’m not sure that’s true. The last thing I want at Disneyland is more stuff that ISN’T DISNEY. Why not just have “National Geographic: The Musical,” or “ESPN Prances Off Broadway?” Just put in something people actually want to see, like a golden age Disney production that they can run indefinitely. THAT’s what people go to Disneyland for.
