I've always wanted to ride in the snow but it turned out to be harder than expected on the oneven winding mountain road. The first snow of the season while traveling through Italy through the Alps on our way to Switzerland.

Hi there Pedro, I have been following your adventures since you posted on YT! Most times you found yourself in some very peculiar situations/whatever the country was! But I think this time you really pushed it! The tracks you decided to go on, this time of the year....and what is the most important part of it is the equipment you have: most riders will have whatever it takes to keep them warm! and you don't have the best equipment except for your new boots! You had to be freezing and so was I back in my days (50years ago) but I just admire you/your style! Keep on riding/be extremely safe! I know its a lot of work but I/and many followers wish that they could get an update on your travel on a weekly basis! I know its a lot of work to edit and upload! We just miss your adventures! You got the right attitude. My old leather jacket in the bag got a partial rejuvenation treatment and is once again of a deep brown colour. There's the chemical smell still though it's fading with time.

Here's a cool tip. if your bike doesn't start after you drop it, just open the gas cap once and close it and then try starting. It'll fire up immediately, well, mostly. Reason being when the bike falls, the fuel sloshes inside and pressure builds up leading to a temporary airlock. Opening the furl cap relieves some of tha pressure. All the best Pedro. 👍✌

Just a simple tip for the chain lube, use a cheap plastic (garbage) bag to put it in. Saves a lot off junk.

Read comments first and wondered how could Pedro do something so stupid. Then watched and all I saw was a well executed version of "this is my plan, F the weather". The only time I questioned sanity was when he pulled that big can of chain lube out that lubed everything but the chain. Good o-ring or x-ring chain and absolutely no need for that crap.

Tough day at the office Pedro! Riding in snow is bad enough on flat tarmac roads. Takes all your energy just to stay foucussed. Shame about the chain lube. I'd forgotten I'd stashed 1/2 kg of Roquefort in my pannier. Next day temps hit the 90's (French heatwave)...did a bit of trail riding, got to the campsite and my tent and all my sleeping gear was fondue'd.

On dry pavement the switchbacks down are easy and fun. You just dive into the corners. But in rain and snow on dirt, descending is terrifying.

Last month I've moved houses, I'm now finally able to save up a meaningful amount of money each month. So in about a year, (perhaps less) when I've saved up about 10k euros I'm gonna get the heck out of this rainy swampy farmland they call the Netherlands and do something similar to what you are doing. When I was 15 I dreamed about owning a VW Transporter van and just living in that. Times have changed, I've had a burn-out, several depressions and a lot of fun times too but now it's finally time to live that childhood dream 14 years later, but on 2 wheels, and without a roof. You've been an inspiration to that end, letting me remember the things I valued before the somewhat dark pages of my life. Daarvoor bedankt Pedro, dat je nog maar vele veilige kilometers mag maken! :)

Brave sole! I learned a lesson on the snow a while ago......turn around! 🤣 FYI...I keep stuff that might leak in a ziploc bag or wrapped in plastic good.

Moment of weakness on my part using only electrical tape to hold the cap. Normally I duct tape any cap since by now I've had leaks of just about everything, including hot sauce. Will keep the bag in mind.

Or don’t bring it. A modern chain doesn’t need much lube if any, just clean it regularly and you’re good. Most lube just attracts grit anyway that acts like sandpaper on the surfaces!

@@iPedroMota inexpensive dry-bags can be had in 3 packs from Amazon. Well, at least here in the states. I keep my chain cleaner/lube/brush in one. I would say this episode contained some questionable decision making, but who am I kidding. Nobody wants to watch you take safe lines and kick back in a motel room. Cheers mate.

I was just looking today to see if YT removed me from subscription to your channel and behold, there wasn't a new video yet. 4:50 Just as certain I was that someone would mentioned that the higher the grit the smaller the media. So, Thousand grit would be close to Scotch-Brite in abrasion, not much to speak of. Enjoyed your narration and description of the proceedings. Look forward to your next vid.
