It Turned Out Great! | DIY Shed House | Couple Builds Tiny Homestead In The Woods
Hello everyone. This week has been really good so far. We got some work done on the shed to house, Wyatt had his birthday on Tuesday and it was a lot of fun and a success!. He is officially 8 years old now. WOW time really does fly. Roxane and I have not been able to work on the bathroom as much as we wanted to. We have to work in spurts so we do not get over heated lol. This video is just some updates and hanging out with the chickens for a little bit. Have a great day. Thank you for being here, we appreciate you all! Enjoy.

Before you plant next, i would add in some mulch the dirt you're using is just dirt not soil so much, it needs nutrients in it, but you're done a great job for the first time. If you're going to move you're camper to a permanent spot, I would put a roof over the top of it so the sun doesn't ruin it over the years also

Anthony & Roxane Y’all have definitely done so many improvements to Y’alls property in 1 1/2 yrs. The bathroom is coming along nicely & I Love the idea of placing Y’alls camper over there in front of that area on Y’alls property line!”Chef Ant” I’m gonna have to get one of my kids or grandkids to make us some meatballs using Ur recipe! That sounds DELICIOUS! Also sounds like Wyatt had an AWESOME Birthday!🥰 I had my surgery 7/26/22 & it was successful,my stomach & my colon was up in my esophagus,my Surgeon was able to pull it down & she tacked my stomach to the side to prevent it from reoccurring.I came home the next day & I’m HAPPY to finish recovering here at home!MUCH Love & Respect!!!💙❤️💙

Looks like Wyatt had a great time and lots of fun. I think the idea of making the trailer a guest cottage is a great idea. I have heard of poke, but never really knew how it should be processed. Nice knowing you have some natural food growing that you didn't plant. I so enjoy your videos and look forward to more. Many blessings to you all!!

You could probably save space in your garden if you took one of those fence panels (or a portion of a rolled fence) and staple it to the sides and made like a Hoop over the raised bed (or on the two edges near an isle and made like a trellis) and weaved the cucumber, squash, and zucchini plants up the trellis then you could use the middle or other sides for other plants. I've also seen tomatoes grown upside down. Oh and I saw something else about tomatoes where they either picked the leaves or stems from below or above the tomato growth and it supposed grow more or ripen faster. I can't remember. But it'll give you some reading or watching material for the winter. I think the channel about the trellises I saw them on was roots and refuge (about a year ago when they still lived in Arkansas) she's really knowledgeable about plants (when she's not just sitting and talking to the camera) The tomato thing was on either head family farm (just a few videos ago -within the month) or just dig it farms - Traci is a garden designer and very knowledgeable too.

Very cool to see how Anthony has become a Chicken Whisperer :D P.S Ben Hollar - of Hollar Homestead YT channel - seems like he does a great job of giving them compost, grass clippings, etc. to feast on as a natural diet, as well as occupying their mind - less boredom, happy chickens :D Once you are ready to clear out a garden bed, you can put a handful of chickens on the bed for a day or two to scratch/break down the greens/vines - just need simple cover that fits the entire bed - and the added benefit is that they will also eat alot of bugs.

With cucumbers I’ve always had better luck with them growing in a trellis or 4x4 square fencing. They grow in a vine style. Hoop house might help with the heat and direct sun exposure. Good luck, thanks for great content, and happy gardening.

Wyatt's birthday party sounds like it was better than my last 20 birthdays. Great job Gram. I mean, he even had music and dancing. How many chicks showed up? LOL Glad it was a great one Wyatt. Happy birthday !!! Garden looking great consider drought conditions but yeah a bit more watering like you mentioned in the mornings or evenings will do wonders.

Hi Roxanne- remember most veggies are 90% water- tomatoes, squash, cukes, watermelon etc- so dont skimp on water!!! Water plenty each time so roots grow down/deep- if you water too little roots come toward surface then Get damaged with the heat. Water, water, water!!!!!👍😁😁💕😁💕😁

I'm telling you the portable ac is the way to go. The one I have has an exhaust vent that would fit in the small window, it pushes all the hot air AND the condensation out the exhaust tube, I ran it in my room for 3 months straight and never had to drain it. When I finally moved it to my truck it had maybe 3 oz of water in it. runs on 110v, cools an entire room with 8000 btu. And can be easily moved, room to room while building and in the future when you may need a bit of extra cooling power in a room. Its on rollers so you can roll it side to side to get it out of the way of construction in the room you are working on. Its the perfect solution. The ac in the tub was a good try, but you forgot about the hot air. it might work if you vented the hot air to the other room, and ran it in the door way with a drape on the door and the ac over a bucket. but you would have to step around it to get into the room every time.

I think it's really cool that someone's going to teach you how to make Poke Salad. I've only had it a few times in my life and my mom and my grandmother made it. I've always heard that if you didn't know how to make it right, it would make you sick. But I think it would be a really cool video. It tastes sort of like spinach. The only way I've ever found to get rid of it was to pick the berries before they fell to the ground. Roundup won't kill it.

Have you considered setting up a compost bin to begin prepare for next years garden? An easy way to begin is to dump loads of leaves from the forest around your house and yard into the chicken run. The chickens will benefit by getting to find bugs in the leaves and they will deposit poo on the leaves and turn the leaves over and over so they will breakdown. Then as they break the leaves down you can rake it up and put it aside to continue to breakdown. Then repeat the process over and over again. Next spring you can add your compost into your beds and till it into the soil already in your raised beds. Another way I like to improve my soil in my raised beds is to cover the soil with flattened cardboard boxes (remove any tape) and cover that with straw and leave it until you get ready to plant in the spring. Earthworms love cardboard and earthworms are so good for you raised beds.

So much polk salad--I'm jealous! lol Have cooked it for YEARS. But don't count on it being "here to stay". You see it in random places, but it's often on ground months after having been newly scraped. Don't pull it up by the roots--you want it to berry out so there'll be more next year. Clip only leaves, not the main stalk, and the plant will thrive a while. (Never clip or pull the berries.) I've had it come up "volunteer" in the yard or garden, and stay 2-4 years. Then, it's gone. NEVER eat it raw. I know someone who ended up in the emergency for room for doing that. Also, I've heard that you can strip the stalks & fry like okra?? Maybe another subscriber can shed some light on that. As for the leaves, I wash mine twice, leaf by leaf, pare boil for 1-2 minutes, only one time, then drain that water, and freeze in plastic bowls. I add water just to barely cover it & press Saran wrap down on the surface before putting the lid on, so as to avoid freezer burn. When preparing for a meal, I defrost it in the microwave, then put in a large pot, bring to a boil, then cover and cook slowly for 30-40 minutes, seasoned with plenty of bacon grease and salt. (Some like to stir in eggs when it's done, but I don't care for that. To each his own.) All that's left is buttered cornbread, a sweet onion, some fried pork chops or bacon, and a glass of tea! Enjoy!

Poke is usually found in disturbed and burned ground. I eat it and cook it, old pet use to take the root grind it up and take it to build up the immune system. Blood. Check out roots and herbs. We used them as a kid. My grandmother did a lot of forging and herb collecting. Those chickens look great. It won't be long before you start getting eggs. Are you going to be able to butcher those pet chicks? Wyatt was so excited about his birthday and I am glad he had a wonderful party.
