Hello everyone, The weather here has been on the fritz lately lol. Roxane and myself are not used to this kind of weather like some of you guys probably are. Sometimes it just seems like its working against us. We had a surprise in the side yard that could have caused A LOT of problems for us. Thank you all for being here, we appreciate you. Enjoy.

Roxanne, the onion flower means the onion is bolting. Once that happens you should eat it right away, otherwise, it will begin rotting and it will taste woody. You can let it bolt and use the seeds for your next year's garden

I also believe that each shoot has a bulb and you should break open the onion and separate them for more plants. I'm still learning though.

Anthony reminds me of “Grandpa Adler Farms” he goes out and feeds the chickens by hand, gives them meal worms by hand, talks to them and sings to them. I think it’s great your chickens learn to depend on you and they get a lot tamer around you guys. You’re doing a awesome job on your home. Look how much you’ve accomplished in a year. I’m so happy for you all I would love to move if I was a lot younger and healthier. Stay safe God Bless🙏🏻

Despite the rain, progress, important progress has been made. The garden starting to show out, very happy chickens, Tank looking content with life, cats getting to spend time with their hoomons, and huge progress on the plumbing. Not to mention seeing laundry happening in the background. ❤ Mother Nature frustrates us at times, but at least she's watering the landscape for you. 😉

What I would recommend is to cap the drains at the open ends then fill the system with water to the highest point and let it sit for an hour. If no drips appear, you have glued successfully.

That tree top could have been dangerous. I'm glad you pulled it down. Two days ago, we had 80 mph straight line winds with rain, lightning, and thunder. When things calmed down, I went out to check the damage. Down our front property close to the fence line we have 6 black walnut trees, each are about 100 years old. The wind took a branch from the tree and twisted it, then slammed it in a downward direction. The limb looks like a massive chicken wing hanging by a strand of bark still attached to the tree (barely). Thank goodness it didn't crash down on our fencing, or out onto the old state highway when a car was there.

We have 5 Black Walnut trees out in our field... but they are only about 35 years old. I was thinking "Lumber" when we planted them. Does anyone know how old they should be before they are worth harvesting? Clearly we PLANT trees for those who come AFTER us. 😊😇

Roxanne your garden is looking good 👍. It is possible to grow onion tops from a sprouted store-bought onion. You will not get new onions from it, but you can eat the sprouted greens. For best results, use fresh onion sets, onion plants or seeds. Or Roots Onions are one of the easiest vegetables to regrow from scraps. Just cut off the root end of your onion, leaving a 1'2 inch of onion on the roots. Place it in a sunny location in your garden and cover the top with soil. Make sure to keep the soil moist by watering when needed.

That tall onion you have going there is doing what is called Bolting, the onion won't grow anymore and is going to seed. Congrats on the garden. That pine that fell will make great outdoor firewood, when a pine dies its sap is concentrated in the dead parts. It's called fatwood and many use it as a firestarter because it takes a flame easy and burns for a while. Good job on the piping..I never dry fit, too much of a pain, I just measure and glue as I go.

Might as well just get used to it, typical Arkansas weather this time of year. One year we had rain almost every day of the month and when it finally quits raining, you will be wishing it would rain. You work when you can and get ready to work when you cannot. But enjoy this time, when the rain stops, here comes the humidity and the heat.
