Lil tip when drilling indoors , tape a big envelope to the wall to catch the dust , don't use duck tape only masking tape , otherwise you will pull the paint off 👍👍👍 What about removing one of the tails at the consumer unit and use that to pull your fishing cable through , and then pull it back again 👍

How to fix Henry’s nose (if I remember correctly). 1. Unscrew the nose bit of Henry. There are 2 parts to this. The inside ring can be pushed the way the dirt travels and the outer ring away from Henry. 2. Once separated remove the old hose from the inside ring (it will be “screwed” into it, use pliers to pull it out and it will unwind). 3. Put the outer ring over the pipe like a boot on RJ45/8p8c. 4. Screw what’s left of the pipe in the inner ring all the way until the pipe starts collapsing. 5. Push the outer ring over the inner ring until its clips into place. 6. Screw the whole assembly back together. 7. Use henry until there little or no pipe left then buy a new one off eBay. Hope this helps. Thanks for the content

It really helps having skinny arms, my nickname at work is the kingfisher because I can pretty much fish cables anywhere with my noodle arms. Thing is, you spend all this time making sure the cable is hidden and damage to the property is kept to a minimum, and all the customer sees is a box on the wall at the end of the day. Unless you're an electrician (or you see a video like this), you won't appreciate it. Glad to see others making the effort. Good job lads.

Top tip someone gave me a couple of years ago…. Use a length of welding wire instead of a coat hanger. It’s the perfect balance of being thin & flexible but still stiff enough to thread cable where it doesn’t want to go 👍🏻

I wouldn’t want to go sticking metal wires anywhere near consumer units!! I use the lids off small plastic trunking works a treat and safe to go fishing around where there might be live wires! Imagine if your handy metal wire goes into say a hidden junction box with those brass posts inside which could well be live!!! Eeek!

I highly recommend one of those cheap USB endoscope cameras off Amazon/eBay. You can tape them to rods, and they are only 8mm in diameter so you can use them to check size walls. The wireless cameras are too bulky. Love how you guys always take the time to make it look so clean!

The wire armoured cable installed after the Open PEN protection device could defeat the open PEN protection. If the SWA cable sheath is damaged or bonded, the downstream parallel earthing path (the armour) will defeat the open PEN protection. IET CoP Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation 4th Edition. (Pg. 72) A solution could be installing XLPE cable (tuff sheath cable) or NYY-J cable.

The red fishing rod is too pre-curved so you will never get it to go where you want. Here is my tip. Simply use a length of net curtain cable / wire complete with the open ended hooks screwed in. This will then go where you want it as it remains stiff, non curved and the rounded end of the open hook will slide over and around obstacles. Once through, you can then secure the cable to the hooked end and pull it back through. Go get yourself some old fashioned granny net curtain cable.
