I would’ve gotten one of the longer maybe 8 foot red ones and put it in the middle to add more weight capacity as well as let it probably track a little better

Jon love the videos, I’m a roofer we always use silicone for leaks (lexel) also keep your fingers wet when spreading the silicone so it doesn’t stick to your hands!

Take the foam out of the holes in the kayak made for the water to go in and out of the kayak. Filling them just makes it so water can’t get out and because your weight is so far forward it’s just filling the top with water. Should help with the sinking problem

Gotta put the couch a little more back on the kayaks so thr front seats up more and not ding into the water or and maybe get a thrd float to help keep it up better but best of luck tho looks like a dope pond fishing boat! Best comfortable one around.

Idea for the next boat: go to the junk yard and find a small convertible (engine removed, you only need the frame really) and strap some 55 gallon barrels to the sucker so it’ll float!

Put a board for the transom in front between the two kayaks. Then put a battery on the other side to counter your weight and slot the trolling motor in between.

If you want to do the couch right and make it float two things. Number one don’t drill any holes in the actual kayaks. Number to use to scupper holes in the kayak as your attachment points and putt faint long bolts thru the scupper holes and use huge washers to hold them together and make the connections tight. Meaning use the holes that are already there instead of drilling new ones that aren’t water tight.

Flex seal the whole bottom of the kyaks. And fill the insides with stuff that’s floats good pool noodles, water bottles, spray foam etc.

Pour closed cell foam into the kayaks like the ones they used for Boats. 2-Part urethane foam. That way it'll have more buoyancy and not let water in the kayak!

Jon B., just fill the kayaks Completely with triple expanding foam! You may have to actually drill a few 1-2" holes in the top to allow for over expansion. But it'd be virtually unsinkable! 🤔, although you did make a Titanic comment......👍!

Put the trolling motor in the middle of your legs so you don’t have to reach behind you to turn it. And put bigger kayaks on the bottom while situating the couch further back on the kayaks

This mini series has been fun to watch so far Jon! I lost it when you spotted the other couch on the bank, lol. If I were in your position brother I would spend the time to make my own primitive canoe from a tree. That is something I have always wanted to do on my channel (and just in my life in general) but I can never find the time or money to do it. Keep up the awesome vids bro!!
