Tony Giallonardo is known as "the Curatore" for his ability to source the finest handcrafted clothes and put together a personalised wardrobe for clients. The OTTO shop in London's Mayfair reflects his vision.
"OTTO is the ultimate shopping experience for men. We wanted the customer to come in and feel like he's at home," he says. OTTO looks after a customer's needs. Any visit begins with a consultation where staff can get to know the man. They then prepare a wardrobe for him based on what they learn.
Giallonardo describes OTTO's style as young and sophisticated with the quality of its clothes stemming from the cut.

Your laundering instruction is spot on. This is how I do my shirts. Although I dont have a budget or lifestyle for one handmade I have a Perry Ellis shirt that I purchased in 1998, it is one of my favorites and looks very good for its age and frequency of use. Also, I iron press my shirts from the inside whenever possible

Tony what difference is hand made to machine stitching , I don’t see the extra value in this

You would think the more expensive shirt was mostly down to the quality of the Cotten or fabric used. When a shirt is tucked into your trousers who cares weather it’s hand stitched or machined…. You would also think a machined stick would be far more durable…?? Surly you pay for the quality of any garment…. Yes…?

How does making button holes by hand makes it more durable is really beyound my understanding... Or sowing by hand, for that matter... Mind you, I am just en engineer so its not easy for me, but still...

Thanks for the comment! Machine-made definitely costs less. Personally, I opt for handmade garments because they last throughout time.

I will never spend one second ironing shirts. I would rather buy a 120 dollar shirt and have the dry cleaner do them, than pay 1000 dollars for a shirt, which is ridiculous, and then have to iron it myself.

While the $1,000 shirt had some beautiful features, the man thing is fit. That is why I have my shirts made. The fit and don’t cost a $1,000.

For 1K USD, I can also get 15 Brooks Brothers dress shirts. Don’t take yourselves too seriously-clothes should serve the person, not the other way around. Blessings!!!

I agree. My job as a fashion consultant is to pick the best fabrics/colors to put on someone to look their best. Price is certainly a factor in the process, and I discuss this a little in my latest video, but a $25 shirt can be incorporated into a stylish outfit just as well as the $1K shirt. Perhaps this could be a video topic to explore in the future. Stay tuned!

@@CuratoreTonythat is also a great point, I can wear a Timex one day and a Rolex the other day, depending on several factors. And is not only give the Timex the “rough” day and the Rolex the special day… everything have its place, both watches can be very nice to wear! Keep up! Great video and great response here!! Is the 1000$ shirt bespoke or from the rack? I am getting a handmade shirt, for example, Finamore, for $300 or a bespoke but machine stitched shirt for $ 400.

The $1000 shirt is bespoke and has my initials engraved. Handmade shirts will move and stretch with you as you wear them, but depends on fit.

That is to say although the highest profit they make comes from the poor , the rich will always want to stand out so handmade stufs they believe is what make them unique. That's a kind of hypocricy.
