My sleep pattern is the same as yours. Alarm goes off at 445am he leaves for school at 645. I lay down and sleep till noonish . So I'm watching at 130 am. ❤ Hugs from NH

I buy the leg quarters in a 10 lb bag for $7-8 and do chicken and dumplings. Or carrots, onions, and celery are cheap and it also makes a wonderful home made chicken noodle, the home made broth is what make both taste so good. Leftovers freeze well.

No onion?!? Just teasing you. I know Howie likes his onions too but it never hurts to change things up a bit. My husband has to have plain white rice with virtually everything so I have to get creative with knowing what to put together with it. But being half Filipino that's just something he grew up eating - I confess, I never ate rice until I met him & after 30+ years, I know exactly how to dress it up 😂. So glad you're feeling better & Howie is home! God bless & sleep well.

What about an 4-5 qt. enamelled cast iron dutch oven? It has a handle on both sides and might be easier to manage while red hot! If you done already have one don’t buy the $500+ name brand. There are knockoffs around for a LOT cheaper that do the same job.

Hi Bev, my husband and I are stretching our quarters too. Example, I bought a chicken and baked it. We had hot chicken sandwiches first night and then I made cold sandwiches for lunch the next. Lastly I removed the meat and cooked down the bones and made a chicken pot pie. Delicious

My Poor Dad raising two teens on a disability pension. We ate chicken with boiled carrots and potatoes 3 times a week close to the end of the month. I grew up learning how to rotate those three veg as differently as possible!

Hi Beverly... Your meal looks delish. Roasted always tastes great . The Italian seasoning I found at Costco was Spicy Italian. We love it. Howard's hands are a working man's hands. I’m up at 3:15 to help Bruce get off to work. Then I start my day. by noon, I am usually worn out. Why? Because of the fibromyalgia and I don’t always sleep that good even though I take a sleep, doesn’t always work. Bev, your chicken and potatoes and such look delicious. Who cares if you’re eating the same vegetables a lot . Whoop De do. We eat a lot of the same vegetables over and over again so what. We also eat a lot of chicken because it seems to be on sale a lot.

We do too! And rutabaga fairly often as well. Not much money, a little bit different flavour, and fully loaded with nutrients.

⁠@@LauraMacMillan-el2kc you do what you have to do. I love rutabaga. Long as you get a decent meal that’s all that counts. I buy what’s meats on sale when it’s on sale at our little grocery store in our town. When I can get chicken 99 cents a LB. once in a while I stock up on it if I can.
