Back in 2004ish my great grandpa died from prostate cancer he refused to get it removed said it made him less of a man he was 85 or something like that i was younger so i don't remember exactly but im glad you made it god bless

Wow rugg. When I watched forest gump for the first time I thought wow could you imagine a person seeing as much in a lifetime as he did ? Respectfully, "Charlie Wagons" , I love those mob names. I'm so glad you're a Cancer survivor. My friends mother had breast cancer and supposedly beat it , then it reoccurred as Brain Cancer, her mother lasted 4 more years then she died. My friend believes it's because bad things she had done in her past. It breaks my heart . ☮ & 💚

I remember La Mer on Ocean Pkwy and so many other catering halls of the day all over the Brooklyn and Long Island . Bagels and the Sunday paper at the end of a catered affair and the real Little Italy. Great memories.

So vivid in my mind when Kenny was killed. Was in 1st grade we were in class door opened cleaning lady came in crying told my teacher about what happened. She started crying. They lined us up and released us. Watched funeral on my grandmothers little black and white tv, she lived downstairs from us.. My father could not afford a TV back then. He was a butcher with 3 children and my mom. Remember back then Italian mother did not work they raised their family. It was not looked upon well in the Italian culture back then if a mother had to work. The men felt they were looked down at and a disgrace.

When 9/11 happened i was in 1st grade maybe 2nd im keavy elementary in ky and a plane was over our schoop and wouldnt identify so we they closed school down it was right after the 2nd tower was hit

I was in the first grade when Kennedy got shot. They sent us home also. Stuff is crazy right now in the country But the 60s were pretty crazy too. Gives me hope we'll get through this.

Mr. Ernie Rossi on 193 grand St. has had his store at that location since 1910. I can't image the stories and events. I know the apartment building next to Rossi's joint, I met a couple of old timers. Sadly chinatown is taking over the joint. Time is progression I guess. Ciao
