La 639 e la 640 senza air scope sono le più belle Ferrari di F1 della storia, oltre ad essere state le prime a montare un cambio semi automatico al volante...e nonostante gli sfottò di molti per via dell'iniziale inaffidabilità (tanto da farla soprannominare papera per via del muso a forma di becco) poi nel giro di pochi anni lo montarono tutti....

Ma quanto erano belle...guarda con gli sponsor ridotti al minimo, la vernice rossa lucente e non opaca, niente orpelli aerodinamici sparsi ovunque ma con una linea pulita. E soprattutto la compattezza, quelle di oggi sembrano dei camion a confronto.

dear Stefano, many thanks for making this video 👍. not so often you can see yourself driving. it looks so awfully slow and i wish i could do any better. but i did even spin one time on saturday morning, the track was very cold. i want to save this f1 of course for generations after me 🙏 the sound hearing from outside is even better than sitting inside the car 👌 holger

Thanks to the help of Stefano and another friend (KZfaq channel: mattyb727), we were able to make this video. I'm honoured that you contacted me and that you enjoyed the video. I guess I can't imagine what a great feeling it is to drive an F1 car, especially if it's a Ferrari with a V12 engine. I remember the days in Mugello with those cold temperatures. You don't have to justify yourself; I understand very well, and indeed I appreciate that you don't exaggerate driving. These cars are very important, and it's right to preserve them. The fact of using this F1 on the track and not leaving it off in a garage is something that honours you. Le auto da corsa sono morte col cambio del millennio e il ricordo della loro forza carismatica rispetto alle attuali è paragonabile, con licenza parlando, alla differenza tra l'amplesso e la masturbazione. E i piloti anche, pur senza colpa. Allora erano Gladiatori, oggi tecnici da Luna Park.

That's a good question. The naturally aspirated V12 engine, the compact and straightforward line, without unnecessary frills, flaps, extractors and all those gadgets of today. Indeed those years were fantastic for F1 cars, and if I had to choose, I would not doubt telling you that I would prefer these to the current ones.

Queste auto sono sempre un piacere per gli occhi e poi sentir cantare i motori come la ferrari sapeva fare è senza prezzo. Se si guardano i vecchi video delle gare di quei tempi si capisce subito se passava una Rossa, anche senza vederla, basta il motore.

Thanks for the upload, Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think this is the 639 test car not the 640 race car, Chassis 105 and 106 were the two 639 test cars and this is chassis 106 according to the display board in the video.

Yes, you are right. 639 was the 1989 pre season test car while 640 (just slightly different) was the car really used for the season (without the air scope for the first three races).

Que de bons souvenirs que de récouter le V12, a l' époque il y avait pas de drs, ni d' artifice aéro, simple mais efficace, bon le V12 avait quand meme des faiblesses c'était bien dommage .... Merci pour ces tours de roues .....

I think maintaining an F1 has the highest costs in motorsport. There's also an engine overhaul to consider, which I imagine should be done frequently if you plan to use the car 2 or 3 times a year.

@@Italiansupercarvideo Absolutely. Surely the pace at which this driver is taking this retired F1 car is indicative of 1. It's a notoriously unreliable transmission and 2. Wrecking an irreplaceable car is a tragedy, lol.

I wish they got the 27 put in the right place. It's not quite right sadly. It's one of the best looking f1 cars ever. I think they've got the gearbox setup in a safe mode setting. It's probably to protect it

This is very sad, as we will never hear the likes of car's like this ever again in F1. I can remember the start of the '89 season like it was yesterday & glad to hear that Ferrari were utilizing a V12 configuration again.

I understand what you tell me, and almost everyone thinks so; the beautiful F1 of yesteryear will never come back. But I want to remain confident because this sport loses fans and interest with each passing year, and perhaps the organizers and F1 will understand that you have to look to the past to be successful again.

Hello dear Matteo😁 as a carting racer ( in the far past) i find this video brilliant 👍 I watched almost all of F1 race's from that period and i remember N.Mancel... in my opinion I'd call his riding style as " dirty"...( too hard )... he was driven very dangerously & often could 't finish race because of accidents....another pilot Berger has been driving more correctly 🍏 and i think A.Prost has been most great Ferrari pilot ever...but once he said that Ferrari too slow & haven't enough power to win even some of low financed team...and was prohibited in Ferrari ever😋

Hi Matteo you and bozzy have the best corse clienti- content on youtube. I was at a couple of ferrari racing days and these cars are so awesome. I've seen that on 3-4. May, Mugello will have ferrari clienti again. Do you maybe know, if spectators are allowed?

Hi Tim, thanks for your comment; I'm glad you like the videos. Bozzy and I have been following these events for years. This week there was the Corse Clienti program in Monza. Today and Tomorrow there's the GT Competizioni. Unfortunately, however, these events have been behind closed doors in recent years. Ferrari itself, from what I understand, no longer even accredits photographers. So I think not even the public can access it. I suppose that also in May it will be the same thing. Maybe we could write to the racetrack a week before to see if Mugello decides to open the lawns. They did it a few years ago, but many things have changed in the last period, unfortunately always for the worse. We mainly make the videos you see of Corse Clienti at the Finali Mondiali Ferrari, the only event in which the media and even a tiny part of the public can enter. We hope that they will open up more to many more fans this year. The event will take place at the Imola circuit.

I've heard rumors of btwn 10 - 20 dep if you are on the ballzout program like apparently Latifi on his way to F1... or more of a gentleman dabbler + of course the cars in yr stable...F50 FXxx vs F1, (!) then the various locations around the world etc whew,..... if only 😜 Regardless,. Yours is an interesting question, but I can't tell you if the diameter of the wheels is wrong. However, everything seems ok to me; it may well be that you are right, and probably they have been changed because the dimensions of the tires used at the time are no longer found.

What a beautiful machine, way prettier than modern F1 cars, the design is simple but elegant, modern cars are too pretentious, too complicated, so many details and holes and winglets and tiny things protruding, my eyes get tired of all the visual noise, also old cars sound better, I don't know what is FIA thinking, they lost track so many years ago.

I can only say that I agree with everything you have written. I want the old F1 back, in every respect. The cars, the drivers, the engines. Those were very good times, much better than today.

Agradezco los ♥️..... "Es mejor que una patada", pero yo quiero videos serios y que pueda enterarme de lo que pasa esto es España 🇪🇦 y hablamos español 🇪🇸, no en muchos otros idiomas que es como los emiten, o como me entran, el 99% en idiomas extranjeros.

Mamma mia che tristezza vedere queste auto portate a spasso da questi ricconi mezze peppe queste sono auto da piloti veri con i soldi non si compra il talento dalla via e fatte la panda che è meglio.

Non sono d'accordo. Non tutti sono piloti e bisogna ringraziare comunque che ci sono questi fortunati appassionati che le usano in pista. Ricorda che bisogna avere rispetto delle auto, specialmente storicamente importanti come questa. Stiamo parlando di uno dei 2 prototipi Ferrari, nello specifico questa è quella utilizzata da Mansell che diedero vita al progetto 641. Dunque rompere qualcosa di meccanico (introvabile) oppure uscire di pista per tentare di cercare un'inutile tempo trovo sia davvero la cosa peggiore da fare.
