So happy that Heliot Ramos on the Giants got the nod. He was rotting away in AAA due to the usual front office shenanigans, and finally got his shot in May due to injury replacement, and played so well, that not only could the team not send him back, but he became an All-Star. This was after Luis Matos was NL player of the week and was then thrown back to AAA a couple weeks later.

Marco Luciano also got shafted big time by the Giants front office. He was batting .393 with a 1.027 OPS when he got sent back down to AAA because he made some defensive errors. Farhan Zaidi has no clue how to run a baseball team.

@@jonnyt16 Schmitt or Luciano should be starting at SS, not Nick Ahmed. I like Chapman he’s starting to come around and he seems like a good leader for the clubhouse. Farhan technically did what fans have wanted him to do this year which was bring in good free agents, they’re just taking a long time to get into their grooves, but I still agree Farhan needs to go at some point

Why didn't Bryce Turang get the reserve spot at NL 2nd base. He's been one of the more consistent BA and OBP guys this year, and he's an elite defender. Sure he hasn't hit as many homers (he does have 2 grand slams in the last 2 weeks), but the rest of it has been electric

As a Mets fan, the fact that any Met making it in the All Star game is outrages to me given how horrible this team has been so far despite some players picking it up. The only player you could have a decent argument for to make it would have been Fransico Alvarez who has been on a roll since coming back from injury. Hell, send Grimace and the Home Run Apple to the all star game over Alonso at this point.

Lindor definitely should be there too, at least to make up for the fact that he definitely deserved to make it the past 2 years and easily should have made it last year. 2022 is debatable, Trea and Dansby were better but he should've been there over William Contreras if he wasn't even gonna catch, but no way should he have not made it in 2023. Made the second phase of fan voting, and definitely should've won. Swanson was a reserve over him, which was fine, but for some reason Geraldo Perdomo, a platoon player, made it over him. Pete probably made it so they can fill a HR derby spot, and the other shortstops are/were some teams' only representative, but if he doesn't get Mookie's spot then it's actually ridiculous. He's far and away been the best player in the NL not in

For some reason you’re slipping into arguments based on who’s more valuable (you discount that according to number of games played) instead of who’s the best when arguing against players like Kwan. 2. You’re still hung up on Lindor’s contract, but that has zero bearing on All Star validity. 3. Voting a player to the all star game because they play good defense is a joke. The difference between good and bad defenders is almost indistinguishable with the eye test. Good and bad defenders both still make flashy plays. On the other hand, you can tell easily tell the difference between players that have a difference in ops of 100 points. The all star game is more about putting on a show than having the best players on the field, and you max out the entertainment value by just worrying about putting the best hitters in the lineup imo. In conclusion, Duran can keep his ass on the bench

It's a stacked year for AL outfielders. As good as he has been, he is nowhere near the top for AL OF. Judge, Soto, Duran, Kwan and many others all having better years.

Twins fan here. Griffin Jax, Willi Castro, and Jose Miranda should be going. The fact that holms made it in instead of Jax is Robery. Literally every single person above Willi Castro in WAR is in the all star game. Jose Miranda literally hit 12 hits in a row a record that hasn't been touched since 1950s. Smh popularity contests

Kwan deserves it more. His Avg is better than Duran's OBP Kwan has a higher OPS a much better defender and the only categorys Duran leads Kwan is home runs and that's only because Kwan missed 30 games and steals because Kwan doesn't run anymore because of his injury

I’m a Mets fan, when I submitted my one ballot that I do every year I only voted for Marte when he was hitting .287 at the beginning of June. I love Alonso and tolerate Lindor, but both do not belong on the All Star team this year. The fact that the Mets were even trying to market McNeil for the All Star team a few weeks ago was pathetic.

The only problems I have are Trea Turner, and Paul Skenes. Mostly about Turner. I don't care what anyone says. Neither one of them have been playing enough. Trea is the back up player they call when the entire All Star line up is filled but before the game starts a reserve player gets hurt. So Trea is the reserve for the reserve. That's it!!

I agree but the problem is all the other NL SS have pretty much sucked. Arcia can't hit, Swanson has also been hurt and sucked, Lindor sucked until very recently, there's just no one else to take the spot. Mookie could but he's hurt. That really just leaves Elly and I guess Cruz..

@@jacoballenn_ yeah, on base plus slugging: this year he's slightly above average at getting on base and has no power. If you're a guy who's only good at hitting for contact, you have to be really good at hitting for contact to be an all-star, like hitting above .340, his .312 average this year isn't good enough
