My god do I hate the new auto radar, after firing a SARM, I always switched from PD, to regular search mode(non-PD); made the 530 Ds act like R-24Rs. Against ERs, 530Ds and Sparrows need all the help they can get. Man I hope Gajin reverses this. It will automatically switch to SCR mode, but too late to be of any use.

Gaijin needs to make an option to turn off this mode... Whenever i use TWS HDN(Tomcat,Mirage 2K) the radar uses PD HDN or SRC

@@sosobel5843yeah but on mig 29s and Su27s it will switch your radar to IRST while you are guiding an r-27ER which you can imagine is *slightly* inconvenient

@@patriktoth6258 Totally, the 530 D is pretty bad without it. But even with a sparrow, I always switched radar modes after launching, the hit rate was so much higher that way.

One thing I would consider is using missile spectator view to check if your missile is still tracking. I use this all the time with long range r27 or R530D shots because you can't see what your missile is doing after the motor burns out. This can help you save a missile instead of blindly firing one again.

it’s funny people say flight performance doesn’t matter in top tier but then complain that the Gripen is overpowered because of its flight performance. It’s a spectrum, you could fly Russian jets that are bricks but have amazing missiles or the Gripen with amazing performance with decent missiles, with everything else in between.

I wouldn't say 9Ms are just "decent". 9Ms are way more annoying to deal with than R-73s imo. It's not enough to flare a 9M, you also have to change directions while you keep dropping flares. Things like the Gripen and the F-15 can deal with that, because of the insane amount of countermeasures they carry paired with great flight performance, but many other planes that 9Ms can meet aren't so fortunate though. For example, the F-16As have the flight performance, but I sure do not feel comfortable with 60 flares whenever a plane with 9Ms is around.

Being the devils advocate for a second, having only Flight performance at 12.3-12.7 isn't going to get you anywhere when you have to face whopping loadouts of 6x 9Ms + HMD or 4x R73s + 6x 27ERs.

@@LordTomi2011 Ranting over missile mechanics its just skill issue, 9Ms performance front aspect and rear aspect is just non existent. side aspect is the only viable angle to make the most of it. R-73s and Magic IIs are almost unflareable once they get the engine heatsign, they're also hot trash on front/diagonal aspect. Play and avoid IRCCMs by their strengths and weaknesses and stop your yapping.

They made the mistake of adding it way to early. They should have added all 3 of the Eurofighters at the same time, but here we are. with 1 of the 3 and it is clapping everything.

Although it’s extremely good, it’s still through and through a 4th gen air superiority fighter, it’s unfortunately just the best one, I agree it could’ve been added later on, but it’s too significant in its own right to be part of that group, which is a whole other class of fighters if we’re gonna be honest. The ingame Gripen has about 10 years on the earliest Typhoon and Rafale variants, and is much more simple in technology. Typhoon and Rafale are considered 4.5 gens and are truly gonna be a game changer.
