Because if I were to point out all the techniques in his performance, it'll be its own series 🤣 Because I am only familiar with a few dance genres technique, there may be those that I overlook. So if any of you found any other technique that Lee Know uses often, do share it here 🥰

Fun fact, Lee Know is the only jype artist to complete their basic dance moves in just two weeks... some artists took months/years, some even debuted without completing the jype basic dance moves. That's how great of a dancer he is.

What people forget is LeeKnow is very aware he is not a solo performer. He isnt flashy on purpose, he has the technique and level to show off, but instead stays back to let the whole group shine. Like a true pro.

Important things to note: Lee Know works hard to make sure all of stray kids shine dance wise and that he doesn't stick out because he wants them to be seen as a team (not word for word but he did confirm that these days his focus is one SKZ shining as a team thus he dances for his team these days and not so much for himself like he used to when he first became a dancer. Next his moves are always powerful and sharp but no unless it's a solo for SKZ he's not showy like say Hyunjin is so people tend to focus more on Hyunjin alot of times. Also Hyunjin has always been given more opportunities to show his dance (no hate to Hyunjin btw) But though Kingdom was a wild rollercoaster I'm happy Stray kids did the show because it showed alot of people just how powerful and versatile Lee Know is as a dancer and perhaps why Chan says Lee know is a master at dancing and why he wanted him for his team. Never forget this man was dancing for 4-5 years professionally prior to joining SKZ not mention all the competitions he's been in and the fact that he danced for BTS who are known for having some of the most insane choreographies. Lastly he's an amazing teacher and choreographer. Thank you for this video. Outside of Ten from NCT/WayV/SuperM Lee know is one idol I view as being a powerful super talented dancer. His skills are no joke and I can't wait to see him shine more in the future.

Thank you so much for taking the time to actually analyze Lee Knows’ dancing. I once saw a “dancer ranking” of 4th gen main dancers and was so happy at first they actually included him, but the research on him was so clearly half assed that they actually said he has weak core strength. Like…I am not a dancer but thats just factually so wrong it is laughable. This video was fascinating because it was the first time someone could explain to me, a complete amateur, why Minho’s dancing is so mesmerizing once you notice him. I don’t care for comparisons, but my eyes honestly go to him on every performance and his is the first fancam I check out, it’s fascinating watching him move.

Backup dancers are pro dancers because amateur dancers would stand out in the background in a bad way. Dance is a sport, takes years and brutal honesty and analysis to get better (like swimming, gymnastics, boarding…..). Lee Know has clearly gone thru the grinder and came out shining. He is the first in SKZ who can execute all skz choreos like a champ and maintains efficiency in energy and recovery. He is not a flashy dancer though, a somewhat negative being an idol in the center position. However, he has been making progress flirting with videocam confidently. Last year his stage presence was 10x better than 2020’s.

I'm not a pro dancer or anything but the thing that strikes me the most about Lee Know's dancing is that he has fantastic footwork. His lower body angles and wide stance are beautiful because of how light he is on his feet and how he shifts their angles to move his legs subtly. I think it was in the Finesse cover where he rotated his foot much more than 90° outward to execute a really quick and clean spin, and I was so mesmerized. You can also see in one of the Danceracha songs that he taps his feet along with the beat during the dance at times that makes his dance so beautifully dynamic. He's really clean with his footwork. Also just that he never misses a beat. Felix has gotten a lot better, and I think he tries to imitate Lee Know's techniques (since Lee Know is the dance leader) and that shows. The execution is sometimes not there, but the angles and energy are. Hyunjin is just too stylized to actually compare, but since Lee Know tends to incorporate changing the choreo to fit Hyunjin's style, it tends to stand out. It also strikes me that Lee Know can just pull off anything flawlessly, whereas everyone else's range in dancing is very limited. Bang Chan may be the only exception, but his execution isn't there because his main focus isn't on dance. Lee Know is just *chef's kiss* and it almost feels like despite being the main dancer and dance leader, he's still underrated compared to the appreciation he should get, and that's wild. So it's nice to find a video like this!

Now wonder why he seems never runs out of energy, his technique is perfect. Next AOTM is for Lee Know…!

Might I add that this man went to a school for engineering and studied mechanical engineering, which kinda is visible in this video. Gosh my life would be complete with either the dance skill or the brain of this guy-

minho chose to be an idol, passing 40 jyp basic dances in 2 weeks and was already a professional dancer before that. he was in the same dance crew as bada lee, redy shin and vata among others who are known for creating incredible choreographies for idols. nothing else to say

This is the type of dance analysis videos that are unbiased. It's so detailed and on point and even provides references to make it more clear for the viewers. Honestly, I don't watch individual fancams before but I accidentally watched lee know's God's menu fancam and I was shocked because he is precise and has that huge body control, also he doesn't look tired the entire performance which even shocked me that's why I started watching other fancams of his and realized he is really a perfect dancer. Honestly, he doesn't over dance nor underdance that's what I liked about him, He knows how to dance powerfully and when to slow down, in simple terms not exaggerated movements. His facial expressions are just naturally captivating and I noticed that he has a beautiful sharp face and a natural fierce look that even a small smirk, fierce look, simple smile or any expressions he does is captivating?? Compared to other dancers that do a lot of facial expressions or movements to look cool or smthn bc honestly speaking it doesn't look good, it only looks exaggerated and most fans view that as 'powerful or cool/ energetic'. It is a charm to be expressive however don't overdo it and lee know is a good example of a natural charismatic dancer! No wonder Professional choreographers mention him a lot too. Plus he is a good dance teacher and overall he is attractive in anyway too 🐱

The reason i found Lee know to be so hot is because he is a dancer. A dancer must know their body really well to be able to fully function in dance, something that I struggle with when I dance. My theory is that Lee know is able to fully visualize how a move is supposed to look, and knowing his body helps to fully complete the move. That's why Lee know is hot, his full control over his body.

Why he wasn’t an artist of the month is beyond me

this video is so accurate at a lot of levels. as a dancer who was trained by a lot of professionals, I know that those "professional choreographers" aren't much seen as great dancers in the eyes of those who don't dance because they have proper techniques that they need to follow in order to execute the dance moves properly and efficiently to their body. that's what makes them "professionals". it's not the amount of how hard you pop or how powerful you dance, but it's about creating balance and understanding your body in order to get the moves scientifically and artistically right. and that's why lee know is so good at dancing. when they're dancing as a whole team, you can't really notice him unlike hyunjin because he knows how to blend his movements and dance FOR A TEAM. but when you see him dance solo that's when you'll really notice his professionalism when it comes to dancing. for example his dance solo in the Kingdom teaser, you can actually see how fluid and effortless he executed those hard dance steps. if you watch a lot of professional choreographers in America like Matt Steffanina, Tim Milgram, Kyle Hanagami, etc. the first thing that you'll notice is how they dance with TECHNIQUES, not just with full power. and I think lee know resembles the way they dance, seeing that he took professional dance classes way before he became a jyp trainee. another dancer I can see dancing the same way as lee know is kino of pentagon. since they both attended professional dance classes during pre-debut days.

i love how he doesn't over dance nor under dance, if you watch his fancam you'll see how his stamina is consistent from start to the end. some dancers might losing their stamina from the middle till the end of the performance, but lee know can manage to always dance powerfully. i also heard that he was in the same dance team called Brownie Bros along with superm tiger inside choreographer and they also participated in World of Dance as team back then, by looking at his circle i'm sure he'll be a great choreographer if he didn't debut as an idol. he's a phenomenal dancer.

A year back when the saw the the dancerachas vlive I was so shocked how all 3 danced continuosly for long...but lee know caught my eye ...while hyunjin amd felix looked exhausted by the songs in the end(no hate to them ) leeknow's dance was still "clean".I never understood how he was able to do that...that tym I thought he must have more stamina than felix and hyunjin.but ..after a few months I realized it's not stamina only(both hyunjin and felix too have that) it's the technique he uses ...and how he uses natural forces to do his moves efficiently(what u mentioned) ..when I rewatched the vlive I realised how efficient he is....this was so intresting to see as fellow dancer.

And it's so satisfying that he never underdance or overdo because as what I've seen, some idols tends to overdance to create the impression of having the best impact to the point of looking messy and cutting the routine itself. As a dancer I agree completely, Lee Know is one of the best if not the best Idol dancers out there, and the fact that he achieved a lot of these skills at such a young age is incredible (don't even get me started with singing/rapping while dancing at the same time at his level). When it comes to dancing it truly comes down to the the little details (such as you displayed for the Wolf perf), when you dance, you want to hit a certain position or move cleanly while still using the correct technique, almost as if they were gonna take a picture of you in the in that very moment, that fact that he achieves this time and time again in all of his performances is very impressive. I know not every single stay or kpop fan would come across the factors behind dancing- and not just moving your body according to the song, but with Lee Know- oh how I wish everyone would recognize his great ability in dancing. I'm aware he has a background in dancing before Straykids but not about his bachelor, hearing it makes me inspired more about my dancing too. I love everything about his dancing, the effort he put on it- those years of training and knowing his body- you can clearly see how it benefits him now. And I love how you worded his passion for dancing not only derives into its artistry but also in logical sense, which I want to train on these days. One of my dancers friend told me that there's a thing about good dancers that whenever you watch them, you're not even thinking about how tiring the dance move is. You just think that wow it's was executed so well. And that's what I always think whenever I watched Lee Know dance. It's not tiring to watch it's more like satisfying as compare to the other members. No hate/blame on the other members, but I think this era where we see a lot of lee know being in the center showcasing his dance is such a good era for stray kids :)

this is why i really love lee know's dance. i just always felt satisfied because he makes everything looks so easy and so clean, thus when i try to do it, it's looks difficult because i don't apply the same method lee know does when dancing. and the fact that he doesn't overdances that's why he doesn't looks so tired afterwards. and he makes himself not shine much because he wanted the whole group to shine and not only focus on him. this is why i dont trust dancers who over does their dancing. after i seen how lee know dance. other dancing idols look normal to me. not saying dancing idols are bad but sometimes, they focuses more don't he visual aspect of their expression that they forgot the steps or lessen their movements

Leeknow is my fave dancer in skz.. i just love his dance style and he is so satisfying to watch.. he may not be the first who catch my eyes, but once he caught my eyes, i cant keep my eyes off him.. i always thought that his dancing is very clean and on point but never boring.. he is so good that he can still stand out without sticking out from the rest of the members during the group dance.. and i think now i understand why after watching your analysis.. and one of the best parts is that he is always having fun on stage, which is another reason why his fancam is so entertaining and never boring to watch.. On a side note, after watching your other analysis on danceracha, it is very clear that each of them has different dance styles.. i just hope that people will stop arguing which one is the best dancer because obviously they complement each other and by the end of the day all of them are skz.. we can have our fave without putting down others

Actually Lee Know doesn't underrated like most people think, he actually one of the most popular members in Skz and Korean, he has many TRUE STAY - which means a real fan, not a random person just have interested in Skz when they accidentally see their performance or just a trend, this people just know the surface (Felix has a lot of fans like this). Lee Know in company with Huynjin, has the most viewed fancam in group, his card or photobook sold as fast asf, he always be the bias wrecker in Skz cauze his unique and fun personality, and STAY really really support him.

When you were explaining about the muscle strength, it made me think how much Minho has improved when it comes to singing while dancing. When he just debuted, he was pretty stable but there were times he sounded very out of breath but nowadays he sounds stable almost at all times, I'm guessing because he has mastered the ways to conserve energy? You know how vigorous Maniac choreo is for his part but for some reason he managed to still sing it through without hitches. And he always makes his dance looks effortless, I always wonder how did he manage to do that. I kinda wanna to compare it to Hyunjin (no hate to him, both of them are my faves in SKZ, like, literally HyunHo are my biases) who arguably is more showy when it comes to his performance. It does make me focused on him a lot more at the beginning but it also makes me notice on one thing during performance. He tends to look like he's running out of energy towards the end of the song and he sometimes sound very out of breath. Now that I heard an explanation from someone who understands dancing, I guess this makes sense, huh. Fascinating.

leeknow's technique is flawless. he's an amazing dancer and I'm kinda sad he's not often in those best 4th gen dancer rankings. I don't think ppl actually realize how talented he is, gotta be honest he's probably the best in his generation

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation! As a ballerina, I actually learn a lot from this video. Honestly this is the best explanation video of Lee Know dancing I've ever watched. Lee Know is my bias and most favorite dancer in kpop. I've been kpop fans for more than 10 years but he is the only one who could amaze me with his dancing (yes, not even the 2nd or 3rd gen main dancers did). I came here from the tiger inside fancam and went there again to see all aspects you pointed here. And boomm.. everything is just like what you said (and what I expect). Even though that group consist of mostly main dancers, but I can see that his move looks bigger, and the efficiency point is very much visible. Tiger inside choreo is very tiring that towards the end, others' moves might look little bit messy, while his moves still looks controlled. There I also noticed his angle is the best, and how he makes a move more complete which then make his dancing cleaner. I really hope that people could realize how good Lee Know as a dancer. Technique is something that people often overlook especially in idols world. As we could see, ranking, opinion or whatever seldom mention him if they're talking about idols dancer probably coz they feel that his dancing had nothing special. Not sure if it's due to me being a dancer, but imo his technique is the thing that makes him special and different from other idol dancers. On the contrary, since others were trained probably with the same way, I just couldn't see anything special from them.

Lee Know is an underappreciated dancer. Many ppl focus more on his looks, his off-stage personality, which isn't a bad thing. But his dance is excellent!! It's so smooth yet powerful and satisfying to watch. He's also the dance leader. He doesn't get tired easily bcoz he has superb control on his body and stamina. Lee Know once said himself that he doesn't try to shine himself as he's in a group, but when he does get the chance, he kills it with his dance and stage presence!! I wish he'd get more center position in SKZ performances.❤❤❤

I love Lee's dance know he can do any dance and doesn't look tired on stage doesn't do exaggerated movements or exaggerated facial expressions In my opinion Lee know is the best dancer in the group because he favors the synchronization of the group the others prefer to shine alone but he does it in a group
