Today on Acrylic Pouring with Friends - Art by Tracie Reed I am doing a Split Cup Acrylic Pour using blues and silvers, just love that cup!
This acrylic pour painting demonstration is intended to be an overview of the Split Cup Acrylic Pour. If you would like to learn more about acrylic pouring, discuss how to use this split cup acrylic pour technique, feel free to leave a reply in the comment section below, and I will answer.
My paints are mixed with my pouring medium, which is 60% Liquitex pouring medium, 30% Floetrol and 10% water.
No silicone was added.
My cloud effect mix is 1:1:2 Artist Loft Flow Acrylic White, Behr Satin Enamel Ultra Pure White and pouring medium.

You KNOW I love it lol !!! I think it looks very cool with the silver, it would be cool also to put the silver in one of the center openings and the blues in the outer and see what happens !!! That's one of the things I like about split cups , you can switch the colors around & get a totally different look. Definitely fun to play with !!! Great pour I personally love it !!! 😘😘😘😘😘😜😜😜😜😜

Thank you Julie. I figured you would like the colors I chose. I might try it again and put the colors in different slots as you suggested. I need to move it around a bit more also when I'm pouring it out and get different designs. So many options 😜😘

@@TracieReed yeah I definitely want to try a diagonal kiss type pour with your cup , with your AMAZING spout the paint basically "kisses" automatically as it comes out ...ya know what I mean . bronze, Prussian or Payne's, pearl white & silver is my fave color combo when I do diagonal traveling kiss pours. You've seen them before I think. Lol . I really do like the design you got on this pour too. Ok mini novel over. Lol

your link is for a 6 oz cup which given the size in your hand seems odd? I have an 8 oz four split cup that is only half the size of yours. My cup actually holds a total of 7.5 oz. Is the cup you are demonstrating with actually 6 oz? I want to purchase one from your link but I need to be sure it is the right size.

I use Liquidex pouring added to my paint. Why add Floetrol also ? Does it provide something different. Thanks

There is nothing wrong with using Liquitex only. I just like to use a mix of the two because it cuts down on the expense. I have been using that mix for almost 4 years now.

I'll try to explain it. Here goes...When the paint runs off the stick into a small mound, then disappears somewhat quickly. I hope that makes sense to you.
