It's more than a tabletop game for me. It is a narrative that brings the idea of humanity in such times of dark and despair, and yet STILL standing, ten thousand years, twenty thousand years, it matters not. We are still standing. While it is true that to be a man in such times is to be a man amongst untold billions, each life somehow becomes more worth protecting, each death inspiring more anger, for why we are slaughtered matters not, what matters is that we still stand. Seriously, the battles at 30k aee very impressive because the legions had sheer size of space marines unlike what happened after Guiliman's codex Astarte, small battle groups of few. Hundreds of thousands...ten of thousands landing pods carrying space marines coming down to the surface.. very majestic.

The Books are great btw. When I first listened to the audio books and in flight of the Eisenstein Garro rises from the slayn lord of flies killed by his bare fists on the surface of luna, when he first repeated Keela‘s words and decided to believe, when he spoke „The Emperor protects“ into his helmet not over vox just to himself looking up at the throne world questioning of the Emperor was looking at him from the Palace… those goosebump moments are aoo great

No matter how dark, the light of humanity shines. We fight for the men and women at our sides, for they are the imperium.

It's not just a game to me. I spent my childhood unable to afford this hobby, or most anything else, we were too poor. As an adult I spent several years in Iraq and when I came back I was desperate for a mental escape, Warhammer provided that. What's more it provided characters that I found myself connecting with on a deeply personal level. I found solace in Warhammer, and after battling combat stress and PTSD, burying my fellow soldiers, and fighting with my own demons. And when I was finally able to afford a few figures and paints, after years of dealing with way more than I should have had to, I was able, even if just for a short time, to find a little peace. Warhammer did that. It's most definitely not "just a game."

It's not just a game for me. It's one of the few things i can have passion for. The lore keeps me wake at night listening to majorkill and more. The game gives my fucked up head something to do. The community is one of my few real friends i found along my way. Warhammer is the most amazing and interesting franchise that ever existed and i won't believe there will ever be something better. I don't play the tabletop or collect minis. I only played a single 40K strategy game in my live called Gladius, nothing more. Yet I am about 23 books deep into the lore and find myself drawn to this... scaleless tragedy of immense sadness.

For me warhammer was never about the fucked up nature of the universe and how every faction is “a bad guy”. For me the darkness just makes the good shine that much brighter. The stories of brotherhood, friendship, love, and the strength it takes to stand tall and unflinching in the face of pure evil and overwhelming odds. Humanity has always been messed up, IRL, fictionally or whatever. But those who defy that shine bright and warhammer just shows that on a more extreme scale. The emperor is but a symbol of humanities unwavering strength and will to rage against the dying of the light
