Can’t lie growing up being a 80s baby iv seen them both from the start …I’ll say this Pharrell changed how I looked at music(the sounds,the sonics,The collabs,The Visuals,the effects) But Those first 3 Kanye albums plus 808s in heartbreak personally changed the way I looked at Life …Kanye 🙌🏾

I agree. For me it’s the way he put his soul and mind into MBDTF when he was arguably at his most hated after the Taylor Swift incident. He came out admitting that he made the album with thoughts of trying to win the public back. Remind them who he is. And he did it with one of the best albums of that decade and one of the best albums of all time

I'll always pick Ye. Kevin Hart said it best. He's willing to stand in the fire. He doesn't chase a formula. He reinvents his sound every single time. Pharrell pushes boundraries too but he stays in the same box. You know a pharrell beat when you hear it, you hear his influence on a song because he has a recognisable sound. Sure, he may add a few new things but they mainly add to his established sound. Pharrell has his own universe that artists jump into, Kanye doesn't. Kanye creates a new sound and isn't afraid to fail. none of his albums sound the same. The fact that Black skinhead, All falls down, Stronger, Gold Digger, Love Lockdown etc. are all made by the same person is pretty crazy.

Pharrell has more collab albums, 5 to Ye's 2 but Ye has a full collab album with Jay-Z and 1 with Ty Dolla Sign scheduled for release next month.

This is tough. They both had so much influence on me growing up. I was a die hard fan of both. P had a big impact on me like Wiz said because I was into the whole skateboarding scene and alternative stuff. But ye has done so much. He’s been super consistent and had a huge impact on the culture. I would have to say ye not only for his body of work but the artists he brought to the forefront i.e. Lupe and Cudi

True Pharrell is more versatile can do disco, pop, hip hop, funk, rock whatever you want he will compose it and make a hit easily. But Ye created way more new genres and he's been taking more risks. No one would be crazy and open minded enough to ever thought about doing Yeezus or Life of Pablo. He opened doors for new genres and still expanding. Kanye is definitely more influential, Pharrell would just do his thing and bang. But Kanye been breaking so many barriers so that his music could be accepted. Both are unique but Kanye's music just hit different.

Pharrell is one of the goats and deserves praise and respect but has only really mastered one, maybe two sounds. Kanye has mastered countless sounds that have gone on to inspire and be copied by so many parfaits and producers. Pharrell intrigues you’re mind. Kanye blows it. You need a producer who's not only good with his craft but just makes life easy for you as an artist... So Kanye West for me sure. Pharrell is a more complete producer, and a people person but you can't argue with the fact that kanye has been a major source of inspiration for top artists like Travis scott, ASAP rocky...
