I love the scene where everyone meets on the pier because of how the different ways everyone wears their masks shows exactly what type of character they are. Benoit’s is effective but with a stylish style, Bird the party animal’s is made of lace and completely useless, Lionel the scientist is double-masking, Claire the politician is wearing her’s ineffectively like a chin-strap below her nose, Peg is refusing to touch Duke because he and Whiskey are anti-maskers, and Helen doesn’t wear one because the “mask” she’s wearing is the identity of her sister Andi. F*cking brilliant!

I got the impression that everyone was saying they'd testify against Miles for the murder and attempted murder on the island. He's definitely getting charges pressed against him.

Love how “The Disruptors” love to say they like to do that but during the climax when they’re breaking all the glass art they’re willing to go *up to a point* and once Helen keeps going and destroys celebrity pieces they draw the line, showing they’re not the rebels they think they are/were

4:13 I do think it's implied Miles will face legal action, since in his last scene they're all raising their hands prepared to testify against him even though they didn't actually see what happened. Leslie Odom Jr.'s character saying he 'saw Miles leaving Andy's place the night she was murdered' and everything

This one had a lot of dumb fun, the first was a more intelligent mystery. I enjoy the first one more just from a genre perspective, but I do think they're both great at what they're trying to do. What I do like about this is that rian johnson's not afraid to do something completely different, which makes the idea of more sequels that could go in any direction more fun to look forward to

My favorite bit of foreshadowing in this movie is how Miles explains his shallow, buzzword-focused concept of “Disruption” to Blanc: “First, you break little things, minor things that the public didn’t really like anyway, and they cheer you on…..but then you start breaking the stuff they really care about, and at some point someone says ‘Enough, stop!’ And then they are NOT on your side”. -This is EXACTLY how it plays out when Helen starts knocking over the ugly glass statues at the film’s climax.

The kinda big giveaway was when Benoit even considers that Miles poisoned Andi but dismisses it cause "he wouldn't be that dumb", you (the audience) know he is. A bit easier and a lot less subtle than the first one which I like more, but this was still very fun and was nice to see during the holidays. Also having lived in Silicon Valley that ending was some real catharsis.

Rian Johnson is such a phenomenal director when it comes to clever writing. From his work on Breaking Bad (Fly, Fifty-One, & Ozymandeus), Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Looper, and Knives Out are all so layered

It wasn't clever writing, it was basically the same plot as several Agatha Christie novels. I knew the killer right away.

4:08 Fun thing is this is either one of two things: 1) Miles hired someone to invent this bc he’s too dumb to do it himself, or 2) Miles DID invent it and it absolutely doesn’t work. Option 2 is my favorite and they characters all probably caught COVID after this movie ended

I think Knives Out stands on its own better with a single viewing. Glass Onion has sharper, more layered writing but it’s so dense that it takes a second viewing for most people to appreciate.

I think I prefer the first because going into the second I knew to expect commentary and various subversions. This one still is well shot, acted and as funny as the first. I’m curious as to how Johnson brings this trilogy to a close.

I wonder if you realize that destroying this famous painting by having an unauthorized override while on loan is crime against France itself! That alone is a major crime and will result in some horrendous charges for Miles! Fun movie and reaction!

You mentioned how Helen put paid to Miles's desire to be immortalised for inventing something so game changing. Here's the thing though- even Klear wasn't his idea! They mention it in the movie itself- miles met some eccentric Scandinavian inventor dude he then wanted to invest in. Dude is literally every "entrepreneur CEO" in this modern age.

The ONLY thing I caught was when Miles gave Duke his drink. I KNEW what I saw, that he handed it to him while distracting him. But I totally didn't catch Benoit calling "Andi" Helen during the blackout.

The ending could be a statement on how the rich and powerful get away with murder, literally here, or you can assume Helen will point the authorities Miles' way and they will find the tons of evidence he almost certainly left behind. Depends on the ending you want to believe.

There’s absolutely no way he’s getting away with murder since his “crew” were going to spill the beans about it. My question is whether they’ll get in trouble for lying under oath about who created the idea for Alpha, since they’d have to explain that he killed Andi and burnt the evidence of who created the company

If you look at the end part from another perspective, they all turned against him NOT after the moment of truth being revealed, they all turned against him right after the Mona Lisa was burnt. Because before they are still holding onto those golden nuts tightly no matter what, but the moment the paint was burnt, they know for sure that their golded nuts have gone, then they immediately turned against him. It's not the awakening of a righteous heart, it's just simple selfishness. The sad thing is that those friend, from the start till the end, they didnt do A SINGLE THING for what's right, every choice they made was for their own benifit.

It isn't fair to call Glass Onion a Sequel its a follow up a Sequel has connections to its predecessors and other than Benoit Blanc there's nothing a follow up is actually what a good mystery series should be just the Detective coming back maybe a couple of others fir example Sherlock Holmes Mysteries returning characters Holmes Dr. Watson Mrs .Hudson and Inspector LA Strade and that's it for A show Like Columbo its just Lieutenant Columbo same goes for the Knives Out Franchise which we are supposed to get one more for Director Rian Johnson was hired to do three movies

I found this movie disappointing. I really liked the first one, but I found this one boring and predictable. 5 seconds after the murder (literally) I told my friend i knew who the killer was. He didn't believe me so I typed the name into my phone and at the end showed him I was right. So obvious, it's the plot of many Agatha Christie novels...and the reaction after the killer was revealed was just strange.
@ma.2089
@ma.2089 Жыл бұрын
Isn’t that the whole point though? That the movie’s answer is so obvious? I think you missed the point cuz Blanc goes on a long rant about how stupid and easy it was to figure out. If the mystery was easy to solve, maybe you should have just enjoyed how it unraveled rather than just googling the answer to prove you’re right. And why was the reaction weird? It’s not like Miles could do anything now that they know he’s the killer. All he needs to do is steal another person’s idea and manipulate them to side with him. What other response do you expect?
