Thankyou so much for this video! I've done CNA work since 2002 and I swear I can do it with my eyes close. I start my night shift PCT position in the hospital (for the 1st time) next month & I'm sooooooo nervous about it lol. I can't wait to get past that awkward nervous stage that I know I'll experience in the beginning and get to the point where I can clock in and know exactly how to maneuver through my shift

Girl please let me know which one you prefer Nursing home or the hospital/ so many people say hospital because it's much easier????? Then the nurse home
@Lotus_LoveHER Жыл бұрын
@@chichinone7555 Oh wow. Had it not been for your comment notifying me, I would not have known that there were year old replies under my post lol So for me, I learned that the Nursing Home is more my speed. I like fast pace work and the hospital just wasn't it, well for me at least. They had me on one floor but training on all shifts. I liked 1st and 2nd shift better because it was much more activity but still didn't come close to Nursing home work. 3rd had me yawning and nodding & they wouldn't switch me off so that sucked. But if you are looking for easier more calmer work, the hospital (depending on which one and which department) is probably where you'd like working at.

I started my position as a PCT a couple weeks Ago but I’m not there right now (I’m pregnant) and i love it ! It’s a lot to take in when you first start coming from a doctors office (psychiatric) to a trauma acute care floor (PCT) and it was nerve wrecking learning how to chart on the system we use but I love being A PCT ❤️😫
@Ana-fp4bk3 жыл бұрын
I never realized how different the scope of practice is for pct from facility and states as well. In nyc a Cna or Pca is different from a pct and then at the same time there are some facilities here that use the term nursing attendants for pcts 😂😂 as a pct in ny state you are trained as a nursing assistant, phlebotomist and ekg/ecg tech. I’m starting my program this fall, originally was supposed to be in the summer but since schools were closed 🤷🏻♀️ These videos you make are the most informative I’ve found on KZfaq. I think you are going to be an amazing nurse you are genuinely such a breath of fresh air !!

Just caught on to your F/A videos and have gone back in time with your PCT videos thanks to that KZfaq algorithm that knows best of what to suggest I view! LOL! . As a nurse in Canada I can't believe how much help you would be on a night shift as a PCT. Is there anything left for the nurse to do? or is it a staffing model where one nurse takes the floor of 45 patients with the assistance of 3 PCTs? I thought from your F/A videos that you had your nursing degree? Perhaps you have already sampled what it is like to be an RN which made you flee to aviation?...Was your interview with the big "D" impressed with your healthcare experience you had and how that would benefit the passengers on a flight? Great videos BTW... wonderful stage presence!

In New York state a PCT is like a LPN in the hospital. We can draw blood pass medication. Apply dressing to wound's as well as keep the room clean.

I haven’t been a PCT in probably three years. The numbers specify, the different types of training and things you’re allowed to do. It should break it down if you Google it and make sure you’re looking for your specific state.

Hi. Are you talking about blood sugar checks? If so then yes they show you. When I did orientation that was part of our orientation where we had clinical days to go into a lab and practice on fake fingers. Also I’ve worked where the nurses will show you. It’s not hard at all. I would encourage you to look at videos on KZfaq of how to do accu checks
