“Them? Us? Look at them , they ARE us. What differences do you see?” - Favorite line of the whole movie. Idk why but it always makes me tear up a little. Reminds us that even though we as people live like we are separate, we are all human. We all bleed.

Incase you haven’t figured it out, this is Disney’s take on “Romeo and Juliet” like the first Lion King is based on “Hamlet.”

Fun fact: the writers had to make it clear that Kovu wasn't Scar's son throughout the movie because if he was, he and Kiara would be cousins, meaning they couldn't be love interests.

Simba’s character development in this movie isn’t talked about enough. He was traumatized from the first movie’s events rather than the usual Disney formula of the character virtually acting like nothing ever happened in the sequels. Though Simba rebuilt the pride lands he had a ton of PTSD that affected him as a father and a ruler. It was very interesting to see them take that route but this was the time Disney started doing something new with their main characters and going the unconventional route. Because while Simba wasn’t necessarily evil he was somewhat of an antagonist in the movie as well but at the same time, you could understand why. To me this movie was way better written than the first and the soundtrack is better too lol

That segment where I hear Mufasa say " Well done my son " still sends goosebumps and a great shiver down my spine.

Most people associate “he lives in you” with a religious message, but when you lost someone in your life it holds a different meaning (obviously it’s about mufasa for simba), so, having lost someone, it has a special place in my heart

So when Simba invites Kovu into the den and Vitani's all 'get him' I always think that's literally the worst place and time for Kovu to do so. The ENTIRE pride is RIGHT THERE to hear the fight and come help Simba. Like, hello, that's a terrible idea! Also, Cody, don't be so surprised the Outsiders were winning the battle. They ALL trained, not just Kovu.

The death scene of Zira’s son, Nuka had extended footage with him saying “Well, I finally got your attention, didn’t I?” Knowing that made me feel more sorry for Nuka because he only wanted his mother’s approval.

In "One of us", when they say "Someone once lied to us" it clearly shows how much Scar's reign affected everyone not just the lions.

I think it's a nice parallel how Scar was killed in the middle of a fire, while Zira died surrounded by water.

The "Do you think Scar is up there?" line hits so hard, because the first instinct is to say no, because we saw what he'd done, so naturally why would he be among the other kings?

"One of Us" and "We Are One" are such good songs! Honestly, all of the songs are really good and fit in with the first movie's songs.

Zira’s death scene was actually edited down for the final cut. Originally, refused Kiara’s help and committed suicide in the end. Pretty dark like Scar’s death.

I always find it interesting to know that Jason Marsden (Kovu’s VA) is the same guy that voiced Goofy’s son, Max.

I love that the title has a double meaning. It's about his literal lion pride, and then his emotional pride as well. :D

Yes The Lion King 2 Simba's is such an amazing sequel to the first one, I love the concept of it being based on Romeo and Juliet. I loved Kovu's character development in this film along with the animation. I mean sure it's not as amazing as the first one's animation, it's still beautiful and the songs are so amazing to listen to!
