agreed Melissa was significant to the show so much they brought Ana Alicia back as another character but it didn't work.

@@jeremywarner2824 Knots Landing was not ruined by the time it ended. Even going about two seasons two long, Knots Landing did not destroy itself. On Falcon Crest, Melissa dying I could almost accept on some level, although I did not think it was a good idea to kill her off. Of course, the stupid character they brought her back as later on in the season eight was a joke. But, the killing of Maggie on FC was horrendous. That would be like killing Karen off of Knots Landing. I would have rather them take Maggie off screen for most of the season. Do something shocking with her and then her come back at the end. Angela and her could have both been in a coma for most of season nine! The downright death of her was too much for me.

All good things must come to an end. And 9 successful seasons, "Falcon Crest" came to an wonderful end in May of 1990 on CBS.

Yeah i dont know what all the complaining was about I liked how the show got dark. Micheal was basically a kingpin and his feud with richard who was now washed up carried the show. I remember this one british dude that tried to smother angela with a pillow. At the time nbc had already announced the show was ending so we all thought angela was a goner.

On the Emmy Award winning nine year run of "Falcon Crest" where Bill Conti was the theme composer and several composers, arrangers and conductors such as Patrick O'Hearn, Shirley Walker, Joel Rosenbaum, Leonard Rosenman, Jesse Frederick, Bennett Salvay, Chuck Wild, Vernon Handley, Geoffrey Simon, Dame Angela Morley, Mark Snow, Peter Meyers, Dana Kaproff, Roger Bellon, Robert Folk, Dennis McCarthy, Jeanette Acosta, Jay Chattaway, Bruce Babcock, Christopher Klatman, Bruce Miller, Arthur Kempel, Mark Adler, Nan Schwartz Mishkin and Alexander Courage - whose incredible styles were totally different.

When consulting producer Joanne Brough who served her duties on "Falcon Crest" for both seasons five and nine, which she says, "We're making a whole lot of changes for the Emmy Award winning drama on CBS."

So many actors were fired off the show and moved on into other projects.

While Bill Conti's gorgeous theme song is totally blown away. Which is why in the world did they have to try to turn it into something by Jan Hammer. But he turned it down, according to his agent. When consulting producer Joanne Brough has brought Grammy Award nominee Patrick O'Hearn for arranging and conducting the music score for the ninth and final season of CBS' Emmy Award winning drama, "Falcon Crest" for Amanda Productions, MF Enterprises and HBO Independent Productions (formerly Lorimar Television) under Time Warner...she knew and said, "Patrick, you gotta do this." And she was right.

I have to admit, Maggie's death, not only shook me but also scared me to death, not only because it came out of nowhere, but because by then, she really was all that was left of a great show.

If you think Susan Sullivan's character as "Maggie" on the Emmy winning show which she got drown and such, she was written off for good. Now here's something else I love the ninth and final season was an all-new introduction to Patrick O'Hearn's non-stopping music score as both composer & performer.

But for the series' finale which Angela gave the farewell speech in the story. In many ways Patrick O'Hearn did such an wonderful job for arranging and conducting the final episode. Monica Mancini, Paulette Carlson, Rhonda Davidson and Raechel Donahue were the vocalists for series' finale of "Falcon Crest."

Steve Dorff: As a composer, arranger, conductor and songwriter, on any film/TV, people who have respected the composer who wrote the theme and in later years, many arrangers & conductors who'll adapted the score and get it just right. And on the ninth and final season of "Falcon Crest" (1989-1990) which Bill Conti served himself as an theme music composer and Patrick O'Hearn served himself as an music arranger and conductor. It's just very simple as that.

They didn't know it would be the last season. They were trying to give new life 😅

Ask blacklisted Oscar nominated screenwriter Dorothy Kingsley and she'll tell you the composer for the ninth and final season was Patrick O'Hearn.

On the other hand, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

She did for nine years from 12/4/1981 to 12/15/1989 as one of the best roles in her longest career. She married to Lyle Kessler since 12/11/1977 and have 2 great children.
