Miles better than the bbc which I think is the worst intro I’ve ever seen

This is a great intro - better than the BBC.

The BBC didn't bother with their intro because they've been leading the charge of criticism for Qatar, cut them some slack and stop pretending as if the BBC were trying lmao!

The little touches to reference the situation so Mbappe with the medal Messi being shown last and Kane with the Golden Ball being the current Golden Boot Holder is great and the music with ITV intros you always know its a world cup and its here when you see these

How prophetic the ITV titles could turn out to be , 2 days before the final with messi in pole position to win

I just noticed at the start of the sequence the statue of Maradona's Hand of God from Mexico 86, the Italia 90 mascot CIAO, and some South Africa 2010 vuvuzelas

This is absolutely brilliant. Much better than that BBC One Love colourful theme with all that “Here We Go” nonsense. The animation in this is brilliant. It obviously captures the desert landscape of Qatar very well. The sweeping music is wonderful it’s as if the World Cup is being presented by Paramount Pictures. I think the music & the desert & how all the footballers are heading towards one goal is possibly based on the undercurrent narrative of Lawrence of Arabia.

One of the best intros ever well done, the Grealish thing cracked me.

For just about the first time in living memory, ITV’s intro is better than the BBC. This isn’t a patch on the BBC at their best, but this years BBC effort looks as though it was done on a PlayStation 2.

My favourite was 2016 Euros as Commercial Art featuring World Class Footballers, this is even better, love the 3D World Cup appearing from the desert and hot air balloons featuring nations flags also like the orchestral Around The World. Full marks graphic designers.

Qatar said you can drink here. But what they meant is, you can only really drink if you are in a hotel or casino with a licence that can sell it. The stadiums you can only drink if you have a private room/sky box. The temporary village made for fans you can't drink at all. Basically if you have a decent amount of money, you can drink. Football and booze goes hand in hand for most fans.

This is better than the totally awful BBC intro but it has nothing to do with football or Quatar and “around the world in 80 days” as a theme tune is also irrelevant.
