This Morning's sound desk decides to crash, leaving all sorts of weird and wonderful audio feeds being broadcast, so they goto a break. If only the break went to air like they wanted.

Technical faults in British TV are extremely rare. There is a legal cap on how much advertising a broadcaster can output per hour, so when there is a technical fault, they can't just switch to adverts and pretend it's a normal ad break while they fix the problem. Because of this, they have to cut to a static title screen or something, which loses them a hell of a lot of ratings, and thus, money. They can't afford to have technical issues.

technical faults are not really that common in the UK.... im from the UK and its rare to see one. gmtv use to have tons of problems with the change from itself to regional news... however i never seem to catch these 'common' faults lol i like it when things go wrong, proves theres humans there!

that may be true but the amount of mixing board failures is also relatively small so but... there are 1 rule when a board breaks, get a new One A.S.A.P and get the other one fixed A.S.A.P to get a spare. replacing a desk can take several hours because of the amount of wires. luckily for them they only need to reboot but a proper desk needs hours of fixing (And that's with 32 channels and extensions) Imaging trying to rewire a large studio desk 50-150 channels maybe even more!

Can we go to a break? Yes, of course you can, mate. The sound is so poorly. I’m so sorry, we can go to a break, and sort out this technical glitch. See you in just a couple of minutes. We’re having a few problems at the moment on ITV 1. We’ll hopefully return to "This Morning" as soon as we possibly can. In the meantime, here’s some music. (music playing) Yooka: What did I do?

GMTV is the morning period on ITV. I'd agree though, it should be a GMTV pic since they love to class GMTV as its own channel, like ITV switches names daily! But that ITV technical glitch pic is the only technical glitch pic they've used, not a variety like the idents would suggest. Oh, the posts above this already answer the question. I didn't realise this morning wasn't GMTV? Oh well...
