IU is the best kpop artist for me… angelic voice , she delivers good music with meaningful lyrics , and by the way she writes most of her songs, producer, composer. She is a true Artist

You may already know, but IU debuted in 2008 when she was 16 but I think she started with 2012 because her 20's was a really important time for her. 2009 was when she released her first album and at that time I used to watch the music shows with my friends every weekend, I remember right from the start people really loved her. But I think as she reached adulthood she kind of became more aware of what it means to grow up with that many eyes on you everywhere all the time and I'm sure it was really difficult to adjust to. She seems like a really delightful and down-to-earth person but I think the fact that she exposes so much of herself through her music and lyrics is also part of what gives people that feeling where it's almost like you know her personally. She's really special ^.^

IU's The Golden Hour concert from last year is going to be screened in cinemas worldwide from today until the 30th! It was her biggest and most legendary concert yet so if you're interested, there is a website where you can check which cities it's gonna be screened in.

One thing IU is known for is after her 2 hour concert is doing 2-3+ hours of encores. (edit) One of my favorite songs not on the Killing Voice is Celebrity. Favorite overall album is Modern Times (2013)

I’m sure a lot of people will recommend you to listen to her albums “palette” or “lilac” because they’re the most popular ones and they do have similar vibes to blueming and twenty-three but i think you should start with listening to her album “Modern Times” which, in my opinion, is criminally underrated. It is one of the most unique kpop albums i’ve ever heard. I really think you would like it, it has so many playful songs, the music videos are amazing and i think it will show you a new side of iu you have yet to see.

She is so perfect❤ So many of her songs are so relatable - one of the things i love about her, apart from i could Lauren to her voice for ever, is that she is so honest in everything. She did start her career 3 or 4 years before the songs in this, so not all her big songs. Often, she will write songs that are about her own life. When she was (Korean ages): 23, she wrote "23" about herself 25, she wrote "Palette" about herself 28, she wrote "Eight" about herself and the friends she has lost 29, she wrote "Lilac" which was about leaving her 20s and how she feels about approaching her 30s.

It would be a long journey if you decide to embark on it, over the year IU has composed on her own more than 70 songs, plus the many songs written for her specially around 2008 and, I'm not overstating it, basically almost all were hits. Nominated to more than 300 awards, winning around 130. So she is a legend already even at just age 30. So you're are more than invited to take that journey, If you are looking for recommendations, I would say look for live performances cause even when at times she has performed under the weather, like in this video, she almost a 100% of the time nails the notes.

Omg! Been waiting for your reaction to her Killing Voice! She do have her age series where she talks about her experiences in life in that point of her age: Twenty-three, Palette and Eight. I think we can include the entire Lilac album here since she release the album as a way to say goodbye to her 20s and welcome her 30s. For MVs, can you please react to You&I and Above the Time - in this order. These song and MVs blew my mind since they are connected to each other and was released 8 years apart! She worked with the same people who wrote the song as well as the MV for the two songs which is amazing too. For albums, I recommend the Last Fantasy and Modern Times albums where I can say she has showcased versatility in singing different genre. Also her Flower Bookmark series which are for her remake of classic Korean songs released starting from the 60's. These albums include Meaning of You and Autumn Morning(the acapella one) sang on this Killing Voice.

She has a whole long-ass list of songs throughout her 15-year career that you can take your time to go through, but ever since she gradually took control over her music in her 20s, her talent as a lyricist really starts to shine. I recommend to read the lyrics after first reacting to a song, because the translation will allow you to understand the emotions and thoughts she is trying to convey in her songs, even though you may not fully grasp the artistry in the Korean lyrics. This is what i have seen from many Korean comments in IU videos, saying that they are glad that they are born Korean in an era with IU so that they can understand her lyrical genius. But if there's 1 thing i feel that many fans will agree is the best things about her, it is her live performances! Ever since she has control over her music, she does her performances fully live whenever possible. She has a band dedicated to her, which is part of her IU team. You can see the band as well as back-up singers in many of her concert videos, as she rarely uses recordings in her concerts, the longest which famously lasted for 5.5 hours including a 3 hour encore 😂 You may react to her official discography however you like, but regarding live performances, i have a few recommendations for you that i feel is a must-listen! 1) "Hold My Hand" - Love Poem concert live clip. One thing about IU is that she does everything live at her concerts a.k.a live band & live backing singers, so her concert clips are the best clips to listen to her live singing! I saw that you liked the song, so i would love to watch your reaction to this concert version, which went viral and made this song climb back up the digital charts 10 years after its original release. Another song from the same concert you can check out is "Blueming" which you can find very easily too. 2) "Raindrop" - Palette concert live clip. Since you liked "Hold My Hand", i strongly recommend to check out "Raindrop" as well, because it has a similar voice change happening in the song which i find really satisfying to hear as a listener, and would really love to hear your thoughts on the song. 3) "Through The Night" + "Dear Name" - Melon Music Awards live clip.
