Helpful note for others: Always book travel with a credit card. If any dispute arises, try to work it out with the airline. But ultimately, if they won't help or do the right thing, you can always file a chargeback with your credit card. You will get your money back. Then, the CC company will open an investigation and it's the airline's responsibility to prove their case and deal with the investigation.

Checked in baggage will be returned to you by the airline concerned upon present your boarding pass. Every airline has security check for Visa and their finding was thar you are were holding a proper visa to enter Egypt. So the hassle. Investigate with the embassy and obtain acertificate from them that the Visa was legal and raise complaint with the airlines customer affairs for the cost of expenses tickets hotels and a heavy compensation. Good luck. You got a Jackpot. If the airline had boarded a passenger without proper visa then you will be deported by Egypt immigration and the airliner also will be fined. So imagine you will be in difficult situation to travel all the way back from Egypt. Hectic Good luck

Yes Bhutani, I too had worst experience in 2008 with Ethiopian airlines. When I travelled from Mumbai to Libraville(Gabon) via Adi’s ABBA a they didn’t board my luggage. I suffered lot in Gabon without my baggage and clothings and forced to buy in Gabon. I got my baggage on my return only after 10 days.

Brother being a frequent traveller oru chinna vishayam solren... ungaloda full vdo and the problems enanu paathen. For ur information ithu complete immigration problem, nothing to do with airline. Neenga Airport authority and immigration ppl kitta thaan deal pananum thavira airline eh blame panna mudiyathu. E visa or any visas is purely with immigration. I can feel ur frustration, enakum ipdi neraya nadanthu iruku but we can't blame the airline company. Thank u Brother.

bro, stay strong. I have been to CHAD once, went via adisababa airport. our flight (Adisababa to CHAD (Ndjamena)) got returned due to technical issue the same ETHIOPIAN airways. Also i had a terrible experience at boarding time at immigration in Ndjamena city (CHAD country) where because my passport one page was torn for a two centimetre they held me for 1 hr and demanded money. even though we went on a business visa. Similarly for my coworker they held him as he didnt get a seal and the immigration officers demanded money, which we gave and came back to India.

I had a similar problem at JFK, New York while entering US when they made me wait for 8 hrs to check my visa. Due to that I missed my connecting flight, but they returned my checked-in bags and gave me a hotel accomodation far away. I had to spend money for taxi and dinner(around 200 USD) Theva illama danda selavu. These things happen bro. Onnum panna mudiyadu. But you are really strong.

CBP panna different. Appo onnum panna mudiyathu. They will only follow govt policy. If the same thing was done by Airline for any reason, it's entirely their responsibility to provide Hotel, Transfer, Food vouchers, etc.

Immigrations do it to ascertain a visa's genuineness (real purpose of travel, port of entry, reference documents), while the airlines just do visa validity (format, name, expiry) But what I wanted to stress was from the traveller's perspective. Bro, I had a similar problem in 2016 in Ethiopia. But the next day they booked a ticket to where we were going. They also provide us with accommodation and my luggage has already reached the destination. 😂🤣

Bro, Actually Indian citizens cannot apply for Egypt evisa online because India is not included in the list of countries whose nationals are eligible for an e-visa approval. There is something wrong in the evisa. How did you get it bro?
