The reason behind it was because all other villains in PR wanted subjects to rule over and be worshiped by. He had moved past that and simply wanted servants to break their backs so he doesn't have to, and when their purpose was served, they are to be thrown away like a single-use sauce packet from a burger joint.

Favorite villain. You are right he did what no villain did before or since he truly brought them to their knees. He destroyed their power base, nearly killed Zordon, and other threw Zedd and Rita. I think a good way to reinvent or reimagine him in the comics would be for him to be like Gorr the God Butcher

He can't. Ivan Ooze is owned by FOX, now Disney. BOOM's power rangers license comes from Hasbro, that own the TV show, 2017 movie and related toys. So for Ivan to even begin to appear in the comics, Hasbro would need to purchase the 90s MMPR movie from Disney. Its too much of a legal mess otherwise.

Immortal flamboyant being sealed in an egg for eons until a wizard released him, has magic powers and wacky personality, can shapeshift, heroes had to train on another planet to get new power but still had to fuse together to fight him, can absorb other lifeforms, killed by a high density projectile... So its basically the Majin Buu of the power rangers universe.

I have this core memory about Ivan Ooze. I got some of the pink Ivan ooze Gak that was sold alongside this movie. I took it to school and it came open inside of my backpack and sat in the bottom all day. We couldn’t get it all out, it basically destroyed my backpack

This has ALWAYS been my favorite movie ever. I had the absolute privilege of seeing this in the Cinema when it first came out. It's just such a wonderful and fun movie, gave me goosebumps as a kid. That being said, it is so hard to watch it now. After JDF's passing, I just cry when watching this. I'm in my mid 30's and this movie turns me into a bumbling baby since then. 😢 He was my hero. Will always be. He deserved better.

Ivan Ooze, the one villain so (supposedly) terrifying that Saban thought they could get away with a nutshot they later edited out. For anyone who hasn't seen the original unedited version, they used to have a wider shot so there was no ambiguity to where their Zord struck Ooze before he floated into the path of the comet.

Can we all agree Aisha is the real hero of this movie. It has her who got the Ninja Falcon Megazord to kick Ivan in the groin and into the comet. If she hadn't done that Ivan totally would've won...i mean the writers probably would've thought of anothet way, but in-universe he would've won without Aisha's quick thinking.

But it was a good scene.

Ive been a huge fan of power rangers ever since I was a kid and I honestly hope they can recreate a villain as devastating as Ivan Ooze was. This was the only time in all my time watching the show that I didnt think the power rangers would prevail at the end and it kept me on the edge of my seat.

As much as the CGI did NOT age well... Ivan was still probably the most memorable villain in the MMPR franchise. His dark humor certainly won over the fans, me included.

I never watch anything to do with power rangers; except for this movie. I remember watching it at a friends house during a sleepover party. I LOVED it. Ended up getting a copy and watched it over and over as a kid lol. Idk why I never looked further into power rangers

what I loved about the final battle was that for the first time in mighty morphing power rangers history Rita and Zedd were cheering for the rangers and wanted them to crush Ivan in the same way the ranged crushed them in every battle they fought

This is and will always be my favorite movie of all time. By far. I was 8 years old when this movie came out. It was the absolute most excitement I have ever felt in my life. My Dad and brother were there with me. That scene where they bring back Zordon makes me cry to this day. "RANGERS!" 😭😭😭😭😭😭. Rest in peace to all the beautiful and wonderful people that have passed since then. We truly need Zordon now.

Not likely. Not because he isn't liked or wanted back. Its more of a behinds the scenes legal red tape thing. Characters original to the movie were owned by 20th Century Fox (now owned by Disney) because they footed the bill for most of the movie, while the franchise and TV series were owned by Saban (which hot potato hopped to Disney (before they owned 20th Century Fox), back to Saban and are now currently owned by Hasbro). The one exception to this red tape were the Tengu Warriors, but only because Saban partially paid for the suits, renamed the soldiers to Tenga Warriors and changed their origin story for the TV series. Closest counterpart to Ivan Ooze that you'll ever get in the TV series is likely the toxic mutant Bigs from Power Rangers Megaforce.

To be fair, the "super high speed with high density" bit isn't necessarily a weakness - this would likely obliterate almost every enemy in the Rangers' continuity. It's more a matter of physics than a true weakness of any kind because with the exception of Maligore/Dark Specter none of the enemies in canon are considered to be in the same power registry as a God.
