I am not victim blaming, but if by some chance someone reads this and it can help: PLEASE do not tell an abusive partner that you are leaving them. Plan an escape and just go silently! Once you are out of harms way, THEN and only then do you divulge necessary information. Even then, please stay safe as that is the most dangerous time in a DV situation. 🙏 It's horrendous that he could do this, especially to his daughter.

I don’t see it as victim blaming- you’re absolutely right! My 2nd cousin was in an abusive marriage and had a 10 year old special needs daughter. She decided she had enough and told him she wanted a divorce. He acted like he was okay with it and moved out. Somehow he convinced Mary (my cousin) to let the 3 of them have “one last dinner together”. He came to the house- with a gun. He shot and killed Mary, their daughter, and then committed suicide. I firmly believe he killed their daughter first so Mary would see it- so he could torture her one last time before he killed her. Back then (mid 1980s), women didn’t understand the dangers of TELLING their husbands/boyfriends they were leaving them. Poor Mary. She was beautiful too- think “Lupita N’yongo” but with long hair. At least I know Mary and her daughter are in heaven and her bastard husband is in hell.

@Angela Franklin It really saddens me that Americans have to think like that. Our Government, on it's advice for travellers, clearly states that the U.S. is not a safe place to visit. It highlights gun crime, Police violence and the fact that they cannot recommend travel to America. That's really sad. There was a time when Europeans, like myself, watched amusing family programmes. The white picket fence, perfect children and parents, were what US programmes portrayed. Along came the Internet, and we all learned the truth.

You are doing a common error. You are thinking with logic. There is no logic - common logic for such people. Think of them as NARCISISTIC. The narcisistic person HATES for others to have their own mind and make their own decisions. If they show some Back-bone and chalenge their behaviors, retalliation will show. He had been acting as such for as long as they were together. That gave him strenght to think he was INTITLE to mistreat her for ever. Because he ad been doing it for decades. HOW DARE SHE to even THINK of breaking that cicle? She was HIS and she would not decide to leave him - he would make her leave in his terms. With cruelty and revenge. Its narcisistic with petiness. Its a lot of things that, fortunately, does not fit in our common logic. Its not about gain, is about being in control. Not loosing his "toy", that was submissive for so many years and "dare" to chalenge him and not be submissed any longer. No can do. He call the shots. You understand?

In the first case, why didn’t the police find the Tyvek suit and missing crowbar? The DA didn’t think it was murder but a crime of passion; therefore, the charge was manslaughter. If they would have had this evidence in the beginning, then this guy could have been charged with murder since it was premeditated. I don’t remember them going back and talking about this when the family got lawyers to file a civil lawsuit. Or did I miss something??? Such a tragedy. The daughter’s testimony was very enlightening and very brave of her. I hope she writes her dad off and is able to live a wonderful life. 🙏

That PA DA and Judge are disgraceful! He was an abusive man, who progressed and receny got physical, who on the day his wife was leaving he bludgeoned her to death. That's not a trigger and accidental death! What did he think the result was going to be when he smashed her head the first time? That's not comparable to "we were fighting and I pushed her. She fell backwards and hit her head" Im so happy she had a little brother to fight for her justice the way PA failed to do so!

When Dad calls 911 "I can't find my daughter" sounds like he simply wants to report it. Heard No Urgency in his voice to get HELP. (e. g.) "Please send help, I can't find my 5 year old. I need help. Call the media, send police, please hurry" Nope just reporting it, like you would report your car being "stuck and I'll tow it shortly" blah blah blah. BLAHHHH

In the first case, I am happy to see that even though the family did not get PROPER justice from the legal system they are able to go after that scumbag's assets, it sounds like they have his financial balls in a vice, with lawyers scrutinizing every single account he owns. He will not know a moment's peace. If he thought that after he got out of prison he was just going to live comfortably the rest of his life with his millions, this was a rude awakening, I'm sure.

Anna Garcia built this podcast with her sidebar team, why is Chris Hansen being imposed on us as the face and voice and she’s being sidelined? You don’t understand your audience. Now it’s got 5 million you give it to your male reporter. Anna has a really great warmth and compassion for what she is reporting on. I thought he was filling in while she was on holiday . You need to sort this out, we want her as the person hosting the channel on KZfaq , it’s a completely different set of rules to tv get it together you don’t own us as an audience , we partner with your channel. Glad you haven’t bullied your way into sidebar. We build a relationship to the host over years .

This is a SUPER old clip. They repost old clips all the time. This channel used to be mostly clips from the TV show, it evolved into the podcast after the tv show went off the air. I used to binge this channel and I've seen every case at least half a dozen times, they just keep on uploading old stories. Chris Hansen has already made a comeback on the internet after this show ended, and then totally DESTROYED that comeback by associating with sleazy producers, and manipulating people and evidence around the Onision case. So don't worry, he's not getting work anywhere anymore. 😂😂🙏🙏 🙌🙌
