Nicely done video. Good production quality with a lot of thought involved. Sometimes, no narration is great because people can talk too much or just have unnecessary dialogue. I am surprised there aren't more views. Well done!

I just bought seiryu stone to use in my first aquascape. After some reading it appears that it will raise the hardness a ton, basically making the hardness of the water that of liquid rock lol.. Is this true? Is it THAT intense, or are people on forums being dramatic? I was hoping to add some nano fish that aren't livebearers, but now I worry the hardness of the water would kill them off.

Do dark start method can reduce effects caused by seiryu stone ?

Dark Start method will only reduce chance of algaes bloom especially diatoms or brown algaes.

Do we really need to put soil even though we’re not putting plants? Newbie here

Good question, no you don't have to, u could use decorative sands if you want to. Soil only will lead to excess of nutrition and cause algae. But if you want to use use a little bit of aqua soil to reduce pH you could do that as well, but of course there's other alternative to reduce pH.
