Getting close to Mythic with my Bant Soldiers deck! Interesting to hear your thoughts on the best of 1 meta. I do face a lot of mono red/blue/black, but I find the decks that give me the most trouble are selesnya enchants or mono green/gruul stompy. Might just be how my deck matches up to them.

I could swear you were going to end him with shore up untaping reflection and multiple djinn clones on minute 41, but I enjoyed the ending as well

Could someone explain why Cemetery Illuminator's effect resolves with Dennick on the field? Is it because the card just doesn't say "Target"?

Since CGB did his first mono-blue Djinn deck, I’m been trying to get an Izzet version to work on the latter and just couldn’t get it right. No [[Thirst for Discovery]] and not having enough counters to protect Djinn was an issue. Also more aggro now hasn’t helped. I’ve been hoping [[Brotherhood’s End]] might be the card needed. Then I don’t need to play out Djinn too early as a blocker. Can’t wait to see CGB show me how it’s done. I always appreciate CGB telling us what works about the deck and how it fits into the meta. Also, the countdown to the new Teferi has begun.

Papa CGB I found some serious underrated sauce. Your next competitive historic brawl commander needs to be Raff Capashen. His flash abilities makes for some insane control spice that I really think you'd enjoy playing. It's even more fun than the Shanna deck!

Land flooding is currently silly.

one thing that was pretty good in this deck was jin gitaxis. I know he seems slow, but if your able to also play forests, plains and swamps you'd be able to play prismatic bridge and possibly get him out on turn 6. on top of that adding an extra 70 cards to the deck could let you have more flexibility, as their would be more cards.

Would anyone think bant control would be decent? Tokens+ bant Enchantment pump+wedding announcement pump as win con? With counters, exile effects?

There are better versions imo. Too few protection and removal, Lier and counters is useless, Invoke the Winds isn't needed.

Djinn decks are trash, and I don't care what their winrate might be. On either side of the table, a djinn deck is the wrong choice.

I played against this annoying deck today and wasn't quite amused by the deck or it's "nice" sarcastic pilot. You have an idea how salty it makes me to see that abrade is a 1 of? Like my opponent topdecked it right when I was about to ruin his day with hearse so i am pretty mad ngl

I wish you would play Historic more often. I like your content, but i dislike Standard.
