I saw JB live in West Palm. I'm one of the lucky ones. They closed with Southern Cross.😢

I mowed grass so I could buy the Southern, Hillman, and Fury band album I was probably 12 I loved that music!

Dude, the Souther-Hillman-Furay Band harmonies are great! 👍🏼 To this day you remember the album you purchased with that mowing money. I doubt in the future anyone will remember the first time they “streamed” a song 😆

Jimmy has been and will be the soundtrack for my life. I wasn’t sure what it would be like to hear everyone else play his music without him. Last night was amazing.

I saw the Southern Cross for the first time while at the wheel of the tall ship Europa as we sailed the Drake Passage to Antarctica. I always loved this song but love it even more now after that.

Thank you so very much for posting. It was a shock to see JD sing this song since his voice is a little fragile these days. It was wonderful because I think everyone was singing including the audience. A beautiful moment. 🌺❤️🦜✨

SC was written by the Curtis Brothers. SS got his name on it for $$$
@ISIXOXISI2 ай бұрын
@alienhuman Oh yes, Richard and Michael Curtis write “Seven League Boots” to which Stills rewrote the lyrics and chorus (that arguably made SC commercially viable.) Indeed, the song is a collaboration, that’s why all three are credited as writers.

All true! But this was a favorite cover song for Jimmy and the Coral Reefers. Some folks prefer Bubba’s version to CSN 🤗 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nJ9zmrByuZjdkpc.htmlfeature=shared

I do too! It was just CSN then as Young was out and David Crosby was barely back in. Stephen Stills and Graham Nash recorded the vocals, and David Crosby did perform the song with CSN at subsequent concerts. Cheers!

Man, everyone is getting old and tired. Age is a crazy thing. Not as strong as the old days sadly.

Even old and tired is way better than the pop crap that passes for music today (Rihanna, Beyoncé, Madonna, et. al.).

@billdesinger8604 Wow, in my sixties and love all these artists at the Buffett Benefit. However I just saw Madonna, and dig Rhianna and Beyoncé as well. I say that all have some great stuff to offer.
