J Krishnamurti - The Real Revolution - 1. Where are we going?
The world is full of misery and conflict, destructive brutality, aggression. Man has mastered the external world but inwardly he is still violent, acquisitive, competitive. Society has been built along these lines. The crisis in the world is actually a crisis in consciousness. It is important to bring about a revolution in the human mind.
“What we are trying, in all these discussions and talks here, is to see if we cannot radically bring about a transformation of the mind. Not accept things as they are. Nor revolt against it - revolt doesn’t answer a thing! But to understand it, to go into it, to examine it; give your heart and your mind with everything that you have to find out a way of living differently.”
The real revolution Series
These eight programmes were produced and broadcast in America by the National Educational Television Network. They represent the earliest sound films of Krishnamurti speaking to audiences - it was the first time that he had allowed his talks and discussion groups to be filmed. The principle settings are the Oak Grove in Ojai, California, and the Thacher School in the Ojai Valley.
---
This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

I know and if you listen to New Age mumbo jumbo they talk constantly about the new light and love coming in and doing this and that. They say the same things year after year and society remains as dysfunctional as ever.

one of the problems that most plague our society is the individual's fear of questioning himself , discovering that his understanding of the world and his beliefs are superficial. the fear of being wrong, the fear of discovering that you are ignorant, and the fear of renouncing the patterns that have dictated your entire life. opening your eyes, sharpening your ears, and keeping your mouth shut while analyzing the world around us, is difficult. but we have to try. we have to....

You don't need another teacher. You need to meditate and receive from your inner teacher. The ignorant person makes no sense of wisdom from the mouth of another. He must look within himself. The whole world has a teacher, and look at the state of affairs. People are lazy. Suffering motivates one to awaken. The world is perfect as it is. It is a reflection of those who inhabit it. Change yourself, and the world will change.

Fascinating stuff, a younger more intense Krishnamurti than what I've recently been watching, I'm glad KZfaq is bringing him to a wider audience, we need these teachings more than ever, but the most important thing to actually incorporate them into our life, for as he has said many times, you are the teacher and the student.

Very true 👍 his teachings were not just philosophy neither did he want them to remain just ideas/ concepts for people, but that make them true for ourselves, in our own daily lives.

What a beautiful soul/Nature does this egoless lone Warrior have! He doesn't give us any worldly-'sweets' really ('this is not profitable in any way', ), but he will go for the Ultimate Treasure, is Pointing there.. He is just singing to our beings whom he knows some of us want to see and Taste this 'New Human', that he talks of! That he enquired about! It is so Good to see a sage work for Goodness like this! Since I know he is absolutely Genuine, I trust every word that he says. Tho I have my own mind and rarely 100% agree with anybody else! But for me, this is like engaging with reality when listen to him! True Sat-Sang, Engagement with Being!

The groundwork in Krishnamurti's dialogues was always the same: to offer the sweet claim of the ultimate conclusion, the ultimate solution, only to find that this is never achieved. To generate an open movement of thought, which is only possible when thought is perceived, in all its structure. The open movement of thought implies a continuous harmony between its own conclusions and the perception of its basic structure; in this way, no conclusion is relevant, no form settles, so that there is always fresh energy to be had. Open thought, which unfolds in this active dialogue, is permanently assembled with cosmic intelligence; closed thought is a ball, which isolates and disconnects itself from its source, intelligence. In the bosom of the active dialogue, since time, the known, is irrelevant -that is, identity, the self-, the toxic personal dependence, the conflict and the waste of planetary resources caused by the unnecessary massification of individuals eager for security and freedom, disappear completely. This is the great revolution that Krishnamurti communicated to us and that now, 40 or 50 years later, reaches its decisive moment.😊

Hope and faith are a brain activity to escape what is. Unless the what is is confronted, seen, sensed for what it is then we cannot resolve our activity in this world. It's not that we can create a perfect world - it is full of imperfections. But our activity to escape is an illusion we can have perfection. If each of us didn't attempt what is then the imperfections subside. My imperfects are another's reason for escape. So we are all living the illusion we can have perfection. In the worldly sense if I see, sense we are destroying this living planet then I cease to add to this at any level. But we don't.

very theoretical, yes. but also very spiritual and even practical. the major themes are awareness, embracing, its neither this nor that, just be. i cant help notice how much of his sentences end with '...and all the rest of it.' its as if alot of the things we deal with is just a hinderance. its more get rid of things rather than add things. simple but complex. not so much how to do things but rather just try to understand first and than just do it. lol. nonetheless, his talks enlightens me, its very refreshing and makes me reflect on my way of thinking and how twisted our minds have become. it challenges myself in a positive way. good stuff. i luv how he just rolled out at the end, i like his style.

Most significant aspect about JK is the notion of FATE. K was literally extracted from a lifetime of penury and anonymity by Charles Leadbetter who spotted his half-naked form on the grounds of the Theosophical society. K's father was their driver and his son, Jiddu, was playing nearby, when he was 'identified' by Leadbetter. Leadbetter soon pronounced him as the new Messiah of the Theosophical cult and the rest as they say is history. Hows that for a throw of the dice? Plucked from a fate of poverty and despair by one simple act of intervention. Freaky!

A real saintly person he was. It's a shame he left his listeners so frustrated by not being able to explain to them 'how' to do what he was telling them to. In other words, there was never any technique to implement the wisdom he was offering so 99% of his talks just went straight over the people's heads. He said 'how' was a mischievous word because it insinuated we need some one else to tell us, but that is how life and learning works by sharing what we know.

Wasn’t he always asking you to think for yourself, don’t believe a word l am telling you and go into it deeply? Isn’t that a revelation? But you are right. Most people just don’t want to spend time ‘going into it’. They want an immediate quick fix! The irony is that after you do go into it deeply which may take some time, the solution is immediate. The choiceless awareness. But don’t believe a word I’m saying!

Very interesting what you point out. But what you say about life and learning works by sharing what we know, is alright outward. But inward in our psyche, we need to know ourself through relationship (mirror). Excuse my English.

actually middle-path, equanimity has been the fundamental universal truth behind everything that exists, if you look inside. so the people who have actually been able to look inside and realized indifference, whether that's a Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Astro-Physicist all end up coming to the same conclusion.

These are just words that mean nothing. Real Spirituality is the creation of reality, it's a game of illusion that we create with our thoughts.

He did not give any method or technique because he wanted that people should search for themselves. He had many techniques or not.but he wanted that people may not stop finding the truth.if i make sonething.and you ask for technique and i dont give you then there is two possibilites either i want you to do that yourself to search for method yourself or understand me deeply that what i have made was easy so no need of technique.
